I dug into some financial reports and couldn't really find a way to seperate the handhelds from the equation. Do you have any facts and figures that contradict those claims definitively?

Nope, just interested to see if you did. I do seem to remember that Nintendo's profitability was very competative if not better then Sony's. But that's just from memory and isn't specific at all so I'm not going to make any claims on it.
