Middle Generation Console Upgrade Discussion [Scorpio, 4Pro]

One shouldn't assume that the statement of zen in semi custom beyond 2017 in 2018/2019 explicitly means consoles. The push for AMD is to move beyond just consoles when it comes to the semi custom business. The biggest rumor is AMD trying to win a contract to place custom zen based APUs in Macs.
 
I think the assumption of the Scorpio having 12gb of memory is pretty dead on. 8gb of memory would definitely hinder their ability to hit "true 4k".

Fashion based on internal project names? That's a thing now?? How pointless will this hoodie be when the retail name is announced?

Edit: This is just a site anyone can stick on a design to sell, it appears. Pity the fool who buys a Project Scorpio hoodie.
 
Yeah it's one thing to get it from the company if you're on the team.

Though on eBay, you can sometimes find t-shirts and jackets given out by companies to people who worked on projects, as their code names get publicized.
 
Speaking of internal codenames, it is amazing when they are learned by the internal business users and upper management. It was hilarious to find out the last test rig was called out by name in a presentation to the partners. All of the internal tools we generate for our own use tend to fall under the umbrella of "Bonnacon". We've been using this name for the past 5 years or so, because it's real meaning is just too fitting. We even used it on a team building beer brewing outing. Bonnocan is a mythical beast from Macedonia with curled horns that could resemble a bison and has a defense mechanism of running away while spraying flaming shit.
