First Killzone screenshot/details? So says USAToday..

SCEA's Press Conference is tomorrow, at 11:30 Pacific/2:30 Eastern. Unless, there was some special Killzone showing scheduled separately.

Yes, at 21:30 (6:30 CET), which interestingly enough is exactly one hour after the 20:30 Microsoft keynote. (!)

Oh, so that event invite (with the Killzone graphic on it) that was posted about a week wasn't for the press conference. I couldn't remember the date, but I remember it being a few hours, and thinking that there was no way that was just for Killzone. I just assumed it was for the press conference. Well, this should be interesting.

Hopefully SCEA breaks their Thursday update rule for E3 and gets content out as soon as they can. It looks like they will based on their comment that the keynote will be published on the PS Store shortly after its over.

That tells me that they are 100% confident that nothing MS shows is going to look better.

Dare I say, it will match the look of the trailer obviously they may reduce the polygon count but how many people are really going to tell the difference.

I wouldn't read anything into the scheduling of the conferences, as far as Sony's confidence goes. Everything is scheduled next to something else, it's just the way it is at these events. Sony wants to show the game before their conference tomorrow so that fuller impressions will be ready to go tomorrow sooner rather than later, and the only time to really do that is the day before.

I think they could have picked a better scene for the screenshot... It's not very flattering with the model in darkness. :/

Of course. But still, it is ironic and poignant.

I don't know but i'm surely not impressed by that pic. I find it impossible that the game will be that low poly. It's like CS Source on the lowest settings.

Where would you add polys to improve this image?

Or are you just trying to say you wish there was more going on in this one shot?

So if I understand the shot correctly, it's in a dark room, and the lightsource is the muzzle flash. If a muzzle flash can throw a light source with shadows like that, then I wanna bet this game won't be suitable for epileptics. ;)

Could look awesome in movement. Far too early to make a judgment call on this, in other words. I'm really looking forward to the Killzone presentation that should take place about 14 hours from now ...

A mod should clarify the policy on comparisons, but I'd say this much - if you're going to make them, at least make them credibly  I've seen comparisons with various games now, all the way up to upcoming future titles in the genre, and most of them have proven so far offbase once people have actually looked back on screenshots of those games.

Don't turn this thread into a screenshot comparison..but I suggest looking up some pics of said game and reconsidering your comment :p

The screenshot doesn't look too great in that kind of closed, dark environment. OTOH, if they keep the same level of quality in large, open, dynamic (destructible) environments with lots of characters then it will be very impressive.

Reserving judgement for more pics/vid. So far it is somewhat unimpressive... the enemy is too generic looking.
