The Framerate Analysis Thread part 2

Given fewer enemy staggering animations compared to the Comicon version, I'd say so. I see what you mean though about the stage demo's sub 30fps status most of the time.

Saw this on Resident Evil 6. Looks like tearing has been sorted for 360. ~9 minuted in it's mentioned.

It seems it has been sorted out.

"We've heard a lot of feedback based on the demo we released," Hirabayashi told Destructoid in an interview. "The team is still working hard to fine tune it. We understand the parts of the demo that came with Dragon's Dogma that were not received favorably, to put it mildly. We wanted to make sure we could try to improve on these things -- the camera angles, the tearing and other issues."

more interesting stuff.

There are also several options that will enable players to customize the views and controls to their liking. For example, you'll be able to control the camera angles to the degree you want to enjoy the game. After showing an example of these options Hirabayashi added, "Hopefully this will please people who might not like third-person shooters as much."

Hirabayshi said that because this is a third-person shooter, he thinks it's better to keep the camera and the aiming camera separate. With these options you can make adjustments to both camera controls, meaning you can invert either axis if you want, and you can adjust their speeds as well.

It almost just looks double buffered now on the 360. That 360 Leon demo looks extremely choppy to me.
It'd look much choppier than that at 20fps or less if it was. Most likely just the video, which is otherwise consistent.

Edit: the interview footage in this video looks as choppy as the gameplay.

;)

Since the frame rate on the PS3 fluctuates unevenly instead of dropping straight down to 20fps when performance is impacted, that would indicate they are still triple buffering on that system, right?

Either way, I'm hoping it's true that this is an old build on both systems. The tearing is pretty bad on the 360 version and the performance is not all that great on either system, and looking even worse on the ps3. :???:

It's was claimed and demonstrated a while ago that tearing was improved on Xbox. Hopefully the new demo on the 16th? is different and from a more recent build.

Geewiz, i wished lords of shadows and FFXIII-2 on 360 would have made such improvements when they had their share of complaints. at least it was caught before launch, if not then it would have gotten a bad rep in the reviews.

Probably you have missed the post below about 26 fps of average in the new gameplay demo... I hardly doubt a game vsynced with 40% of tear without that can handle stable 30 fps imho

Well, frame rate certainly dips alot. Actually, it seems that neither console can't even reach 30 fps. New low Capcom...
