Red Dead Redemption 2

It's just clickbait. The only thing they've said AFAIK is that they're working on fixing issues.

Shamelessly stolen from the resetera thread - like I said, nothing specific;

sort of crappy that there is no way to just shut off HDR. I guess it has to be done on TV input

About HDR, I honestly doubt they managed a highly dynamic open world with TOD and all without a reasonably robust PBR pipeline. I doubt they can get lighting this natural looking without the engine operating with reasonably high dynamic ranges already. Hell, I'd bet GTA V was already somewhat PBRish and HDRish on PS360. I believe, for a game like this, outputting HDR doesn't require that much work on content side. At least not with assets. Maybe it's about carefully ajusted camera settings like exposition and color grading. But their lighting values and materials must certainly have some leeway as it is already, come on.

I always wondered if GTAV materials had some sort of early PBR implementation.

To be honest seeing RDR1 again is great to see how many materials react very well to the light changes. Maybe they just had amazing artists.

On Xbox just go into the console's display settings.

Same on PS4. You can set HDR, Full RGB, and force output to a certain resolution in settings.

This game reminds me of Fallout and Elder Scrolls in that no matter what my plans are, I never seem to actually get to do them.

I spent an 90 minutes today following some treasure maps which, along with the two gold bars I found in the burned town near Horseshoe Outlook, gave me six bars which a fence converted to $3,000 which is way more than you need to upgrade the camp with tons left over for weapons upgrades and a new wardrobe of clothes.

Each bar is worth $500 and there are two bars in a lockbox behind a desk in the Sheriffs office in Limpany, the burned down town by the river near to Horseshoe Overlook. You meet a fence in one of Hosea's Chapter 2 missions and I also found a fence in St. Denis whilst out exploring. I don't know if fences exist before you do Hosea's mission.

I got four bars from following the treasure map after I completed the gunslinger quests, one of which takes you back into the mountains so do dress warm or you'll die! You also ride past an old abandoned settlement that give me the creeps like nothing else n the game. I swear I kept hearing noises while exploring that place :runaway: Those quests are worth doing for the weapons you get - assuming you're a decent gunslinger and not some cowpoke! :mrgreen:

The Hosea mission that unlocks the fence itself has you robbing a property which nets about $70. I've also not had much success making money with hunting. Main quests, holdups, treasure maps, robberies and stranger missions are generally good. Also mass looting of bodies but never where decent people wander otherwise you'll end up with a massive bounty.
