The game has such well established atmosphere: the storm clouds swirling over the smoke, the decaying buildings and oppresive city architecture....I remember hearing that some of the city levels were modelled after sections of old European cities.

That's not a direct feed screenshot, but a photo of someone's TV...

If you've got time and can be bothered... what gives it away? In fact is there something that gives it away or do you just happen to know (perhaps from the original source?)?

Offscreen camera pics distort and exaggerate in-game lighting. They dont magically increase texture detail however.

Not saying its different design but looking at those 2 screenshots in fullsize its quite a large difference in detail pronunciation.

Taking a photo off the TV screen blurs the entire picture, hence lack of pixel sized aliasing. It also blooms out the bright parts and messes around with the colors. It's also strange how the image has a different aspect ratio and resolution, not to mention the lack of info on any built-in screenshot tools for the KZ2 beta.

Do they need to ?

From my perspective, the graphics is already industry leading. Can't find major flaws with it. They should focus on fundamental gameplay, new levels and community building, not winning forum wars. ^_^

What I found most interesting in those vidoes was how the gunplay, or the gun movements, still were slow, but the gameplay was faster then I had expected. Some really heavy playtesting seems to have happened there!

Another screenshot:

This doesn't seem to be from a TV, as almost all TV grabs add a lot of blue to the game, but this one seems to have its true colours. I had not noticed the texture improvements earlier! I didn't know they were so good :D !

wow, those screens look great... it just gets better and better. even if KZ2 sucks (which i somehow doubt) ill buy it for how good it looks. i can't wait for R2 and KZ2.

what makes you think they havent improved the textures already in their latest build?

Your basing that on a postcard size offscreen image vs a fullsize grab? Both having the same texture... its really like with textures, a 512*512 texture will look better on a small surface than on a large surface (downscaled vs native). It snice either way though.

i understand your logic here but taking another look at the full 720p shot, i think the difference wont be big if any.

Ridiculous to base texture improvements on such a small picture, if you downscale any game down like that textures look super swell. You gotta look at native shots if your going to say anything about textures

I commented on the ground textures from the 720p shots only, I just didn't re-include the shot. Its the one Ultragpu has shown right above ur post.

I quoted the small pic for another reason. Read my post.
