Formula 1 - 2014 Season

Surprisingly, Vettel was knocked out in Q2, while Fernando should have some type of problem in Q3.

Ferrari had problems all weekend tbh, on both cars, Kimi's final time was insanely good considering that his first corner went too long and he had locking brake problems too. Not sure what problems Alonso had on his final lap.

Background:
Kimi has been in some contexts been referred as "saviour of the nation" for Ferrari, since Alonso hasn't managed to snatch a championship title on Ferrari and Kimi is the last one who did, and now returned to the team.

Today, Alonso seemed a bit bitter, this was sometime in the practice, when he asked in team radio (translation from italy to finnish, mine from finnish to english) "I really just want to know, where's the saviour of the nation. What's my difference to him"

Apparently Alonso was loosing engine power.
Nice job by Daniel and Bottas, but it looks like Mercedes will walk it over wit ease tomorrow.
Most action will happen at the back between Caterham and Marussia as they seem closely matched so far :)

He will start 10 places further back the grid. So, maybe this time it doesn't count.
I have no idea why Vettel was so slow but Daniel so much faster and even then it is not enough to start better than 13th.

For qualifying it stands, race is a different matter

Apparently Alonso was loosing engine power.

This complaint by Alonso has reportedly been confirmed as false, still waiting for the link where the team says it, but meanwhile his speed trap times at least don't support him losing power:
S1 S2 S3 (Finish line)
Q1 240 259 283
Q2 240 260 286
Q3 (last flyer) 239 260 282

You can also check that his previous fastest lap in Q2 was actually faster, while Kimi improved in Q3. This also suggests either mistakes, not clean lap, or some technical difficulties, or all of them combined.

Terrible start by Bottas, Kimi got stuck behind him and lost places

And apparently Magnussen hit Kimi, again.

edit: this is getting ridicilous, Kimi's DRS is apparently broken, again

The Mercs just dominated; From the time the safety car left Ham/Ros pulled 22 seconds ahead of 3rd placed perez.

FFS, ban that Crashtor Maldonado from the series already!
He got a 10second drive-through penalty for taking out a driver who had right of way and drastically altering the outcome of the race.

I cannot comprehend how he gets a slap on the wrist for something so dangerous and ric got fucking crucified for his much less dangerous error.

Ecclestone says F1 will accept two new teams in 2015

Well i guess we can expect to see more safety cars next year.

The Mercs will take some catching this season. Let's assume they both ran the full allowed fuel flow after the safety car. They pulled a 6 second gap after 2 laps. That's a phenomenal speed advantage and certainly indicates there is a lot more to it than simply having a better engine.

Got to say I was expecting them to issue a hold station order seeing as before Hamilton had basically won the race, but they let then continue reading which was great to see. How Rosberg wishes Schumacher was still racing though. Hamilton is just too good for him.

Hamilton was more aggressive and quickly responded to all of Rosbergs attacks, he was able to hold him off long enough for the softs to lose their advantage(Ham was on Medium and Ros used Softs).
