Formula 1 - 2014 Season

It's not fair to say Kimi was 1s slower than Alonso as his car floor was badly damaged causing significant loss of downforce!
:

I didn't see anything mentioned about his floor being heavily damaged, maybe that was it. Make no mistake I am a huge kimi fan but I got a feeling that he can get slightly lazy when he is to far back.

SkyF1 Ted's notebook gave this info :)
I like Kimi but I too think he can be very on/off pace depending on how good he feels the car. I do expect him to challenge Alonso in few races, but overlay I don't think he will score more points than Fernando this year. Cars are too nervous to drive so far and before engineers improve that aspect I feel Kimi will struggle a bit. Also rain seems to affect his feel for car for worse so it will be interesting to see both Ferrari drivers battling next week!

Umm...how boring.

With the new rules they should think about doing it the the Rally style and let everyone drive for themselves and just stop and measure the best race time to declare a winner. There is no overtaking going on anyways...and we would see at least HAM and ROS fighting against each other.

Yes, unfortunately this race was boring.

Hopefully some other teams can challenge Mercedes soon ...

Not just that, but his DRS was broken at least parts of the race (source: Turun Sanomat / Heikki Kulta)

It's just the optimal way to do it: when a team has an advantage, it is in their interest to go as slowly as possible while still securing the 1-2. That way they save the power unit, gearbox etc.

Of course they were did you not hear Rosberg after the race when he was talking about holding of Vettel?

Basically he was fuel saving and still keeping him at bay, when they told him to make a gap, i.e. not fuel saving, he pulled away pretty quickly.

If anything that tells you the current gap to the red bulls in the dry is massive. And it's not all engine like people think, the Mercedes has a very good aero package too.

Prediction for Bahrain: Merc 1-2 with Rosberg on top.

P3? Vettel or Alonso.

Räikkönen gets some new parts he has been requesting for Bahrain, should help especially with the front of the car which doesn't suit his style at the moment

I see Daniel on the 3rd step, but there is a good chance for Massa or Hulkenberg to do it too :)

It is too unpredictable at the moment to be sure, but it's great :p

That 2013 pole video.

Anyway, i've noticed that most people seem to be ignoring Rosberg as a serious championship contender, seems odd as he is currently winning, in superb form and has the best car on grid.

Ferrari is using secret new engine, which has too much power, pulling off a wheelie on F1 isn't something you'd want to do :p
