Formula 1 - 2012 Season

This is as ridicilous as it can get really, oh my, someone said a swearword on TV, call the police!

Fun fact: BBC did get some complaints about the language on the live show. They however got more complaints because they delayed the iPlayer viewable version to censor the curses.

In the UK there are laws to ensure that this does not happen.
I remember when Ali G went on Radio 1 and swore (and it was very explicit), the presenter (Sara Cox) didn't apologise - she was sacked. [May be incorrect - oops, looks like she was "moved" for other reasons too]

We have a watershed, no swear words before 9pm.

R u f***ing kidding me? If u have children, would you like them to listen what two brainless idiots have to say? Do u realise that humanity at this particular moment is at extremely low level and there is no need to dig even further? :devilish:

If you don't want your children to hear what idiots have to say you'd be best to get rid of the television. Personally I find the 'R U' in your text way more offensive than the word you self censored.

When everything is normal, television and F1 in particular are superb entertainment. I don't know if you know but there are excellent sports, music and documentary channels which educate and entertain. So, what would you suggest as a solution of the problem? To go directly at the track and to listen them live?
"Get rid" of TV is not a solution, because one would also assume you get rid of all sources.... and cinemas, clubs, etc.

Wrong impression, I'm just being playful with my keyboard... Sorry, didn't mean to offend anyone. ;)

Someone using swearwords on TV does nothing to humanity and the kids hear and will learn the words from everyone around them regardless of TV, don't be naive.

 Oukey.

Now seriously, children tend to follow and try to be like those "stars" on TV and the chance they are 'positive' to and memorise what they hear on TV is much higher than if the same words are heard somewhere outside, I mean from their friends. Friends are not that 'high' in their eyes. ;)

They've done the correct thing. It's not the first time Vettel has used the F-word on live TV. Although I'm not against it personally I don't really fancy hearing them all cursing non-stop on the podium either.

Using a phrase like "we didn't fuck up" (Vettel) and "they gave me shit" (Räikkönen) is very normal speech for young people, and uttering them does not automatically mean they will swear non-stop. It's like conservatives in the US contending that if homosexuals are allowed to marry, people will start marrying dogs.

Bollocks and fuck that shit.

We already have words that adequately describe their emotions and managed to convey them without shit, fuck or whatever.

I know a thing or two about this. I've seen Scandinavians reel at a simple "go to Hell" while Brits use it in everyday language.

The point is, just because it's ok to you doesn't mean it's ok generally. Fucking, Shitting, Cunting, Bollocksing, Wanking or whatever is not to be encouraged on live tv. There is no need for it - and just because it doesn't offend you doesn't mean it isn't offending many more people.

So stick to the tried and trusted stuff that rarely offends. It's really not fucking hard to understand.

Yeah, very normal for the degradated society, young people without soul, with questionable education which they think is very good, with very bad language, should I add more?

Oh, and by "humanity" I meant "mankind" and that we are in a very deep shit and should find a way to escape out of it. ;)

Obviously that is the wrong way to go about things. I you start thinking that you could ban just about anything. For example, do you think they should have banned rock and roll in the 50's because it offended a lot of people and the music already there was perfectly adequate already?

Language is something that evolves all the time and if a younger generation thinks words like shit and fuck don't necessarily have a negative meaning that should be accepted.

That is not to say it's okay to say it all the time. Especially Vettel's fuck come across like something deliberate to me but I honestly couldn't care less about Kimi's 'they gave me shit''. To me that is just another way of saying they were giving me a hard time.
