Formula 1 - 2012 Season

You will not find any non-Finn on the planet who believes Raikkonen should be mentioned in the same breath as the other three.

I am non-Finn. IMHO Kimi has certain qualities above Fernando, Sebestian and Lewis. He is just as fast as the above drivers as well when he needs to be.

He is also likes the word "shit" and that has to count for something. I am not saying he is BETTER than the above 3 drivers as all have their particular special abilities.

This +1.

As for finding comments regarding is Kimi "on same level" or not is hard, since pretty much all entries google gives are about the last GP only

Just as fast when he needs to be? One might say that F1 drivers need to be fast all the time.

I'm sure there are plenty of top driver lists out there as well - you won't find any with Kimi above Alonso however, of that I'm certain.

Quick google search...

(Alonso 9th/10)

(Alonso 13th, Raikkonen 31st/50)

(Alonso 9th, Raikkonnen 22nd/40)

(Alonso 10th, Raikkonen didn't make top 20)

(Alonso 6th, Raikkonen 21st)

The experts appear to be in agreement. Raikkonen isn't even a top 20 driver while Alonso is top 10.

Murray Walker - “People query whether Fernando Alonso is best driver in F1. I don’t query it, I think he is and he has proven it once again. This car has come good brilliantly in the hands of Alonso.”

"Alonso the best current driver - Schumacher"

Di Resta thinks Alonso is the best currently - http://duncanblog.dailymail.co.uk/2...ark-is-the-greatest-driver-in-f1-history.html

So does Hamilton (at least better than Vettel according to him) - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/20192741

Look at the rest of the comments in some of those links....it's really quite clear. Nobody is talking about Kimi in this way...he's not in the same class.

I'm sorry to go on and on about it but....I cannot see any possibility for anyone believing (truly) that Raikkonen is on the same level as Alonso. Where is the evidence? The experts in agreement? It's no better than saying Webber is as good as Vettel, or Coulthard was as good as Hakkinen etc etc.

But still the fastest laps mean nothing according to you

Didn't check them all through, but last ones you did were done when Kimi wasn't active driver, and when you're not active and not Schumacher, it instantly lowers your points.

Well I'd rather be a driver who had fastest laps #2-10 than the driver who had fastest lap and then the rest were way down, put it that way.

Oh come on - I doubt Kimi has done enough this season to suddenly propel him into being one of the true greats. Alonso is a true great, there's no doubt about it. Maybe Kimi would have been had he stuck with F1, but he didn't.

Again - I'm no Alonso fanboy and the only reason I want him to win is because I'm *really* not a Vettel fanboy and nobody else was likely to stop him from 3 in a row. For a very long time I was hoping that Raikkonen would be in with a chance but as the season progressed it became clear to me that he (or the car) just lacks that extra that is needed to be WC. At the start of this or any season I'd much rather see Raikkonen win (I don't particularly like Ferrari tbh :p).

Aaaanyway...I've put my points across and it seems pretty straightforward to me.

You mean being 3rd in the championship and being in the championship just 3 races before the end with only 4th best car isn't incredible? (I'm not saying Alonso being 2nd and still in the race with 3rd best car isn't incredible too, but Ferrari was easily best or 2nd best car in the wets, while Lotus was probably some 5th-6th best with rain conditions)

Kimi has proven himself to be top driver, fighting equally with Schumacher, Alonso etc over and over in the past, the only issue was McLaren that couldn't deliver a car that would actually finish the races too.

It's not flexing, it's wiggling. The wing isnt bending towards the racetrack and that is what is helping aerodynamics. Its just rocking back and forth because he hits the curd at high speed. The same thing happens on other cars as well.

Besides, this was his damaged front wing right? Might as well be moving even more because of that.

Whole nose is bending.

Heck, I don't think Vettel is even in the same league as Webber. If not for team orders and the car being geared more to suit Vettel, I have no doubts that Webber would be ahead of him in the driver's championship.

God knows I dislike Vettel and his finger pointing antics, but that's ridiculous.

Vettel to Räikkönen before they got up to the podium:
- At least now the "mulkut" will shut up
Kimi
- yeah... maybe, they always figure out something

"mulkut" is finnish and translates more or less to "dickheads"

(Vettel & Kimi are friends and Vettel has learned few finnish phrases)

I was wondering why both of them are so disgusting. And here it is, stupid a******s! :devilish:
