Xbox Series S [XBSS] (Lockhart) General Rumors and Speculation *spawn*

$399 is not a price for a low-end 2 SKU strategy. $399 is what you release 1 SKU at. At $299 it's meant to slide right in at your existing One SKUs that are no longer being made. I always believed the unit will not sell at higher pricing. Would be better to just continue selling the One X at $299.

Yea it looks like they went with the high low strategy. I am a bit surprised that they committed so much to it. But then I guess some people will be very happy they did. Cheap entry to game pass for local running.

Tiny, yes, but I wasn't expecting the thickness. Looks like it only has 1 of the same dimensions as the Series X(160mm). It's shorter than the Series X by a few inches?

Tommy McClain

Tiny but yet it looks thicker in the latest video than the first angle pic made it seem because of all the hole patterns on the side.

Looks like < 1/2 thickness of XSX. So still fairly thin. Agreed it could be X1X thin.

hmm. 299 is. A great price. Gonna have to rethink this. Upgrade at least 1 of my Xbox. Or both and lose Kinect.

Less than half the thickness of the Series X. So yeah more like One X then...

Still rumors, but release date of November 10th.

We can confirm via our sources that the entry-level Xbox Series S will cost $299 at retail, with a $25 per month Xbox All Access financing option, which Microsoft is planning to push hard via various retailers and a large global roll out.

Both consoles will launch on November 10, 2020.

If All Access for Series X is $35/mo then Series S takes the One X spot at $25/mo?

Tommy McClain

So it would be cheaper to get the Series S for $25/mo since you're actually only paying $240 for the console. That's a 20% discount. You're only getting a 4% discount on the Series X at $35/mo or $480.

Tommy McClain

Yes, was gonna post the same thing about AllAccess pricing and discounts, but its not bad at all considering no finance charges.

Maybe the Series S price will be lower than $299 going by AllAccess metrics?
