Tom Clancy's The Division [PS4, XO]

GAF (the ones saying it's gonna be delayed) is dumb, once a game gets a specific day as a release date it's almost never delayed.

The graphics on the new trailer are really nice but, I imagine it's maxed PC.

Didn't Globalsateur (sp) confirm the XB1 alpha was 1080P? Surprised at that.

Did anyone manage to play the beta? I had 2 keys for it but I was just way too busy to get involved

I did, a very little...

I have concerns about the actual gameplay, which could be described as clunky. Other than that I'm hopeful it's something like Destiny, but trying to do some things very differently, but hopeful will succeed.

Most video games are like this, they mimic other games before, but innovate in some areas. The question is if it works.

Not I. Had the keys & even downloaded it, but got too busy. :( Hope to on next go round provided I get another invite.

the goons looks boring. like call of duty level boring.

destiny with their dumbed down AI looks more dynamic than that (halo still better with the high tendency of enemy flanking, running around using environment as cover, not just duck pop out duck pop out)

dunno about the gunplay itself. gotta play it to know its good or not

btw the animation still looks clunky, and i still cant shake the weirdness of headshotting human head wthout armor and they are fine :/

oh the animation...

luckily those stuff usually easy to forget after a few hours of play

The environments look generally a lot more simplistic compared to the reveal. All that added garbage and rubble really provided an ambience that is now rather missing.

Yeah, as always in these cases it's a lot of little things that really add up. Final game still looks good relative to other games though.

Obviously an NDA was up today which ought to ease anybody's mind who was worried about a delay.

I'm still worried the gameplay will quickly become repetitive as I experienced in the Alpha. It's cover, shoot, cover, shoot, cover, shoot, as you see from the videos. I hate to say it but it's possible Destiny does the gameplay a lot better.

For me it's kinda weird, both Destiny and this will suck a lot of time so I dont really want to attempt to do both...so it will be interesting to see how it goes.

I talked about how games do things differently, well I think one thing I hope for from this is to attempt a Destiny style game that's fully solo-friendly unlike Destiny. I think that would be a great direction to explore. Not even sure it will work out, but somebody should try and it seems like they will.

From all those videos... The bullet sponge enemy is the most immersion breaking for me.

Normal clothed human, charging at you while using a wooden club... And it takes lots of shots to kill him.

Why? His clothes made of adamantium or something?

Headshot also did not kill enemy.

Can't they do it like metalgearsolid v? E.g. Add helmet so you can't one shot enemy using Headshot.

Instead of making their bare head as strong as a tank.

The big pull for me with Destiny were of course raids. Raids and discovering how to solve them with your group of friends is perhaps some of the most rewarding things you can do in social gaming. I found the first raid to be right up there and a lot of fun. We took weeks to clear out the first phase without seeing what others did, but it paid out well in terms of enjoyment.

I don't think Division has raids, and I feel that's going to be a big missing piece of the puzzle.
