Tom Clancy's The Division [PS4, XO]

Game just looks average now, nowhere close to the promo trailers or clips ubi's shown. Gameplay doesn't look that interesting either, might be skipping this after all.

"Average" :LOL:

Yeah, I wouldn't call that average. It's obvious things have been paired back when compared to its original debut trailer, like the ice looking rather flat now, but it's still a good looking game.

The reflections and pop-in are obvious drawbacks even in that gif. I am curious to see how far we can push it on PC. Syndicate for example seriously lacks a TAA solution(no TXAA doesn't count, it tanks performance by at least 50%) and even in higher than 1080p res it's full of shimmering. From what i've seen of the game it looks worse than the reveal in almost every aspect, i think that's what ultragpu is getting at.

Edit: D/ling the gamersyde footage, i'll see if i can pick up anything from that footage.

Ok, shimmering looks fine, even in the X1 footage (assuming that everything that doesn't say "Captured on X1" is PC), it's definitely using some sort of TAA. Now about issues

Best thing about the trailer (even though the game has some really stiff walking animations): http://abload.de/img/tctd_testimonial_225484srw.gif

It looks good (especially night time), but it doesn't look anywhere near that reveal.

To be fair not even upcoming linear AAA games look as good as The Division at its reveal.

Already beaten like a dead dog, the reveal is not that special now.

Not to take away the disadvantage of being an open world game of course.
But yeah perhaps I was a bit harsh to call the current build average, might look better with a decent 1080p feed.

In my point of view, it will be 2016 one of the best looking games next to Battlefront (DLCs are coming too), Paragon and below Star Citizen. Mass Effect Andromeda could also provide a big surprise graphically.

I know that Naughty Dog has a lot of fans but Uncharted 4 is technically not as strong as it often thought.

For the moment, The Division also looks a lot better than Horizon: Zero Dawn.

-Open world > tiny corridors.
-Fully dynamic GI > baked lightmaps.
-Asset density is a whole other level.

In comparison The Order is in the kiddy league

It is already worse than crysis in terms of destruction, vegetables, dynamic ai, etc...

Gonna wait for the game to have demo or public beta to really judge though. I was burned by assassin's Creed United. It was cheap for only 15 dollars but it's super boring and have too many generic Ubisoft busy work. Life is strange give me much better experience for cheaper price.

Fully functional game > non fully functional ubisoft fantasy demo.
And on top of that The Order has far better character models, better asset quality in general, asset density is at least on par from certain levels (clearly you never played the game), better cloth, more realistic PBR too. In comparison The Division looks like a typical game while the Order touches CGI territory in looks.
