Are they basically against showing almost any "gameplay" view pics. There aren't many around. All I ever see is 3rd person view pics 90% of the time.

You could probably say that for every game out there. There are some though...

edit: There are quite a few multiplayer first person view screen shots. So quit yer whining :p

Lighting looks pretty gorgeous:

OK, here's a video that hasn't been posted yet. It's called "5 minutes of fun" and it's a 5 minute look at the documentary that comes with the Limited and Legendary Editions.

I hope the store I pre-ordered at didn't over-estimate the units they're getting of the Legendary edition (chances are yes :(). I just can't believe how unfair it is that the second disc is only with the limited run of helmets. It's just a DVD!

Johnson looks great:

According to Frankie @ Neogaf, it's the in-game model (not the "post-processing" though).

Say, is that the in-game Johnson model?

Yes. Probably with some post-processing. But there's only one model.

I know the graphical quality of Halo3 has long been discussed, but to me the new movies and pictures which, are not even 720p look as good as anything I have seen. The colour pallet, the lighting, texture quality and scale are just stunning and is far more impressive to me than the monoscale, clostrophobic and limited scale both Gears and KZ2 portray.

Wired Article: Halo 3 Science of Play.

"Is the game fun?" whispers Pagulayan, a compact Filipino man with a long goatee and architect-chic glasses, as we watch the player in the adjacent room. "Do people enjoy it, do they get a sense of speed and purpose?" To answer these questions, Pagulayan runs a testing lab for Bungie that looks more like a psychological research institute than a game studio. The room we're monitoring is wired with video cameras that Pagulayan can swivel around to record the player's expressions or see which buttons they're pressing on the controller. Every moment of onscreen action is being digitally recorded.

That's what you get with a 50+ million dollar budget..

It's pretty rediculous to be honest..:???:

go Bungie

They appear to me to be in the elite of developers at them moment. and of course... budget helps but more than a few projects have had tons of money only to be fragmented into a big mess.

these guys have a clear vision and all evidence indicates that they are brilliant at what they do.

With Bungie, I've never doubt that the gameplay will be amazing, but throw in one of the best graphic of the current gen is simply beyond words. This is how a sci-fi shooter suppose to look! The colors, lighting and epic scale are head and shoulder above what's currently out there...and possibly through 2008.

Even if $50M was the development budget, it worths every pennies. And I'm sure they can make a lot more in return.

Now, I understand why MS didn't feel the need to make a huge price cut of the 360. This game will move a lot of 360 (arcade). I guess that's a duh statement of the week...:))
