Sunset Overdrive: From Insomniac Games [XO]

Games seems good so far. Visuals are nice. It's going to take some getting used to the controls to be really efficient at traversal. Still getting used to what things bounce, and how far/high I can jump to connect grinds.

Just pre-ordered now based on reviews, I was on the fence about it at first but the reviews have removed my most of my concerns. It being not sure if this has the depth to be really fun.
Well, for those on the fence, Coco, a fitness model and celebrity has been seen playing the game, so that might be an additional incentive.

She is IceTs (from law and order). She used to be a porn star IIRC.
Ah, okay thanks, I never heard of IceTs either, but my suspicion about her being some kind of model for something turned out to be true. Too many bends and curves and so on.

Still, you don't get to see women with that body on the teletext at 3AM.

I recommend using the female body types if you're into that because they look a lot better and the clothes fit a lot better. I found most of the styling on the male characters to be a little off for me. Not only the faces and the body shapes, but the way the clothes fit look kind of odd. I described it to my friend as a teenaged boy wearing his father's suit. With the male types you pretty much have to go all out crazy, because there's nothing resembling clothes that anyone would actually wear that look right. The female types have a number of clothing options that look like the fit better. So my character is still kind of flashy, but not a complete joke.

Yup I feel the same way. Lol the girl is pretty jokes. The dialogue overall is pretty funny

Overall, the visuals are very good. The controls work well, though it's going to take me a long time to master them. I still hit the wrong button sometimes. If you get caught on foot you die real fast. The weapons are pretty fun. The mission structure is very much the same as Borderlands. Haven't done many challenges, but I've done enough story missions and side missions to know the game is solid.

I tried multiplayer and it was really difficult. You need to get huge scores to get rewards.

I like that the collection shit actually does something. They're materials to make amps. Then there's a defence game to actually make the amp. It's pretty good.

There world is pretty big, but I don't think it won't have the same sandbox style play as GTA, because you don't have enough interactive elements.

Ok, after playing some more, the multiplayer is not as hard as I thought. When you enter multiplayer you pick a region of the map to play in. I did "All Areas" which will put you in any game. There seems to be a different difficulty level for each region of the map, so my first try was probably for a region I wasn't ready for.

As you play your guns rank up, you get some new abilities, and you get new amps and overcharges. There's a lot of ways to improve and customize your character. Tons of options for clothing and stuff as well. It seems like the huge list of challenges will each award you some kind of clothes or other reward if you can get a gold rating.

Very good game.

Nice I hope to try multilayer soon. I just finished building the 3d printer LOL. Friggen hilarious this game.

As you play you'll unlock a sort of super jump when you bounce off things and an air dash. They make traversing the city a lot faster.

I also realized that if you jumped in the air and did a ground slam, then immediately jump afterwards you get an extra-high jump. I'm not sure if that's something that unlocked as I played, or if you could always do that.

The weapons are good. It's not as funny as Borderlands. Sometimes the humour works, and sometimes it doesn't, but it's definitely enjoyable. There are also a lot of robots and scabs(humans) to fight. It's not all the OD mutants. I'm going to try some challenges and try to create some amps if I play tonight.

starting the 9th target has a by 2 get one free . So i'm grabbing this , smash bros and maybe another game dunno which one yet. But i'm excited

Pretty far into it now, I think. Humour is 50/50. Gameplay is very good. Overall enjoyable. The leaderboard challenges are actually pretty difficult if you want to get gold ratings to unlock rewards. Haven't done many, but the ones I have are fairly tough. There must be a lot of clothing options between the story missions, the side missions, the challenges, the vendor and multiplayer.

Really far into it now. Fun game. Soundtrack gets tiresome. Gameplay stays fun. Missions are all pretty basic. The humour is still hit and miss but some of it works pretty well. Overall, enjoyable game. I really like the look of the game.

I'm finding a bit of a difficulty spike at the 3rd night defense mission (The first one with 2 vats).

In addition to 2 vats to defend and more entrances, it's the Gloopers that are messing me up by gunking up my rails. I am spending so much time jumping over obstacles and recovering from falls that I can't keep up the DPS to take down all the OD.

I noticed there is an epic amp which produces flames from rail grinding. If you have tried it does this have any effect on glooper spikes?

What traps do you have? Do you have the freeze weapon, or the acid one? Or the Captain Ahab gun? All good for crowd control. I think I used the machine gun trap and the blade traps to do that one.
