Are people serious? That trailer didn't look too out of this world at all to me, you can easily see game assets and low res textures all over. That Robinson trailer however was on a whole different level.

oh yea, that was amazing and in VR :D ! I am sure that will be the biggest VR showcase !
But the new NFS definitely looks the part !

What makes that trailer for me is the sound. Battlefront may very well sound better than the movie. Playing Battlefront in an IMAX theater must be something. It already sounds sublime on a pair of HD 598s.

I could certainly tell this was rendered, didn't look particularly convincing as live action to me. On the other hand it still looked awesome and I do agree with the assertion that Frosbite is pretty much top of the graphics food chain atm. I'm not sure why you think the Robinson trailer was on a different level though. It also looked great but it was (at a stretch) as good as this IMO in a much more constrained environment. And it's also unlikely to be reflective of the final product, unlike the DICE video above which everyone who's played BF knows is exactly what the game looks like.

Robinson's trailer has far better lighting and volumetric lighting, much denser geometry, not a single low res texture in sight and a general CGI esque sheen perhaps due to better post processing effects. I don't know man, to me BF's trailer did not hold a candle to it. That said it still looked pretty impressive tho not at the top of the pyramid.

Oh, then please use this link from now on...

Thanks.

Maybe we could just tag everyone by their primary gaming platform and enforce segregation by blocking access to different forums unless the tag matches? That would certainly be conducive to conversation.

I'd disagree on the lighting points. On the foliage point.... well the Battlefront video was set in a desert so.....

As a ps4 game, i don't see how crytek's game could look anywhere like that trailer. Since it's a VR game it needs to be 1080p/60fps, and what we see in the trailer is on par with best 30fps and/or 900p games on the console.

What does the VR box provide in terms of processing power? I heard it has a processor unit that helps the PS4 no? But I'm ok if the final game takes some hit in the aa, af, shadow res, LOD or post processing quality.

We have no idea! But it's likely not in any way a GPU accelerator type thing. About the most it can contribute as mentioned above is post AA to save the PS4 having to do that. The reprojection seems to just be a bit of move and scale and not fancy frame interpolation.

Now if they had only spent serious dollar on a SP..........................tragic.

EA is already working on a single player Star Wars game. Great marketing for Battlefront by the way, Dice is using that IP brilliantly. Almost makes me wanna buy the game
