Star Wars Battlefront [PS4, XO]

I have to confess the ad is stunning, though I wish they had spent the enormous production values of that ad in the game itself instead. That thing probably cost as much as a ~5 hour single-player campaign.

The game looks, sounds and feels great, but there's seemingly so little content overall (few game modes, few maps, few characters) that the $60 they're asking for it has as much value as the $20 Konami asked for Ground Zeroes.

I get that they didn't want to spend a lot of money on making a huge ambitious game like the original Battlefront 3 with a single player campaign, space battles, multi-crew vehicles, ground-to-space transitions, etc. but then they should at least let it reflect on a lower price for the standard version.
In fact, in terms of gameplay this new Battlefront is closer to Unreal Tournament 2004 than Battlefield 4, let alone the original Battlefront series.

I know this is going to sell like hot cakes regardless because the Star Wars hype train is stronger than ever, but I get the feeling that people will eventually feel ripped off and on the long run that's definitely not good for the industry or the franchise.

They do have more game modes that what are shown in the beta. I do agree however that it would have been better with a single player mode. I'm unsure if there's a space battle mode as Karamazov wished for above but that too would have been awesome. Or just a whole separate X-Wing vs Tie Fighter game with these graphics would be out of this world.

-How do you make a game look better in a trailer?
-Remove the HUD.

Except there's like 10% of actual gameplay in that trailer.

It's all in engine though at gameplay quality. Basically we're just watching cinematic angles of gameplay. The Endor levels look at good as originally teased. Despite not really liking multiplayer games, I don't see how I'm not going to be able to get this!

i hope that destroyer crashes on the battlefield (ho ho), causing chaos during the game, and not just in the background.

Are we going to end up with a game that is better Star Wars than the next movie? Certainly better than the last three movies. :runaway:

Frostbite is ruling the gfx battle right now, seems like. This and NFS both look too real as far as the final look goes. Is the NFS game also 900p on ps4?

Are people serious? That trailer didn't look too out of this world at all to me, you can easily see game assets and low res textures all over. That Robinson trailer however was on a whole different level.
