Am I the only one trying to download the beta, but it's impossibly slow? No, it's not my connection - I just downloaded a few other gigs of games on the PS4 and they went as quickly as usual, but this one just isn't going as expected.

I had the same problem yesterday. Took me several hours.

I thought the beta was disappointing.

This game is good for SW fans, everyone else will probably stay in BF4.

Did anybody experience both walkers down in the beta? ... I tried several times when I was in the highly motivated lobby on rebel side, but no success, we only managed to slay one but not both.

I don't know what I'm doing, but buying the DH17 (I think) was the best thing I ever did, I finally started killing people.

I'm still sh*t though :(

I'm a SW fan and I don't see anything good about it. Reminds me why I didn't buy BF4 though.

Same for me...took 7h!

Tried the beta:

1.) I quite like the game, it is fun. It is very arcady and simple, not as sophisticated as a BF game...but still fun and lots of action. Hardly any team play unfortunately. Also, weapons seem so similar up to now. I like the cards mechanic. I like the HUD.

2.) Star Wars theme is great!

3.) Sound is great!

4.) Graphics are extremely bad (PS4). It is imo quite shocking. The whole screen is shimmering due to aliasing issues and there is constant pop-in and blend in of objects/textures...hence a constant flickering of the screen, which is super distracting for me.

The low res hurts gameplay, when fighting foes in the distance.

In total, the game makes fun and profits from the Star Wars theme. I wonder how much content there is...it would be easier for me to justify buying it if a SP campaign would be included....

man.. this game need more SP component. or at least coop component (the beta only have survival thats very boring).

Destiny is only online game but it have robust SP and Coop component, and players play more PvE than PvP.

So, they went with the Battlefield type of DLC again, $50. So, if you want to get the deluxe version + the whatever they call their season pass now you'll have to pay $119, $109 for the regular. That's a hefty price for a multiplayer only game. And it doesn't look like it has any more depth than the previous Battlefield games, if anything it lacks depth. While i am having fun with the game i think pricing is a real issue but it won't matter since is Star Wars and people will buy regardless :D

Again 50€ for the season pass...come on! And this for a online only game...which (judging the menu with the 'not available in beta' stuff) isn't particular content heavy!

Hm...I really don't like this practice of DICE anymore.

Without trying to take sides here, let me just ask a question - what large studio has managed to stay independent, not getting into a partnership with a large publisher? The only one I can name is Valve, and they've only escaped this by basically becoming a publisher themselves...

Okay maybe Bethesda could be called a middle ground, and perhaps CD Projekt Red. But basically everyone else had to get into some sort of alliance, and we all know that escalating budgets are the reason. How could DICE find another solution but this one?

They joined the dark side. The dark side is very attractive, as it seems to be easier to get stronger with the force...but as Yoda said, it is not stronger! It is not the better way :)

Seriously: No one says it is easy, I understand that. It is also unfair of me to think that game devs are anything special, or have a special connection/relationship to/with their product or their community. They just doing business/their job as everyone else and I agree that I shouldn't be disappointed.

But, I just am.

DICE used to be my favorite dev, I played their BF games all the time online on a daily basis, liked even the SPs and think that ME is one of the best games. I waited 6h in line at gamescom to play 15min of BF3 before release. But since BF4 (already started a bit with BF3)...they just disappoint, as devs but also how they together with EA do business.
