[PS3] Infamous 2

I wish they stick to the locked 30fps especially for an open world game. Infamous 1 though with its slow downs at times, didn't break the immersion for me. Being 30fps could really push everything further, I honestly doubt a 60fps open world game would enhance the experience that much better despite sound good on paper.
Looks like no AA :?:
I agree, 720 shots shows all but it's pre alpha though.

Thanx for the link ! Looks absolutley phenomenal compared to Infamous 1, a huge overhaul !
Can't wait to see Daytime footage of the city ! Lots breakable stuff, lotsa dynamic lights(though they lack shadows), much much better character models and improved Texture res for the ground, even better electricity FX.
The only annoying thing in the video is the lame 2D smoke effects ! Hope they are placeholders. Although, they do look comic-booky but the whole game on the other hand seems to be moving away from the comic book feel. Tey mismatch in the whole scheme of awesome gfx.

Still lotsa time, can't wait to see more m!
Gmae of the E3 2010 for me. no other gameplay vid has got me so excited for a game this E3 than Infamous 2 !
Oh! And that music that kicks in when he battering them necromorphs is pure Infamous Awesome-ness ! Will never forget the unique ingame music of Infamous !

Even I think they lost the "comic book" touch of the first game...which is bad in my book. unless they give the game a noir touch. (which seems like a stretching idea)

inFAMOUS 2 will still have comic book style cutscenes.
Aside from that I don't remember anything so comic book-ish in the first game.

I don't know guys. Is there really a big graphics improvement?

Just saw these for instance:

For my untrained eye, I don't see a major difference to be honest, but I am interested to know which stuff has improved in your eyes!!

for me it seems that they have improved especially the presentation...it is more cinematic now, which is rather cool!

what I like as well: destruction of buildings...I wonder how much this is integrated in the game, i.e. is everything destructable or only some scripted stuff?!
But in my opinion, destructable environment in action game needs to be standard :)

Just from those pictures, I see the following improvements:

- Shadows on enemies
- Higher detailed characters, buildings, and cars
- More detailed buildings visible in the distance
- Much larger particle system
- Better lighting
- Better textures
- Tons more destructible objects
- Higher AF?

I only difference i saw are the shadows, textures and better particles so yeah improvements are there. Ooh and infamous 2 looks a lot more clearer does infamous have QAA?

inFamous had no AA but a strong depth of field effect on the background at all times. The comparison doesn't seem to be too useful because it's comparing bullshots of infamous 2 to a mix of bullshots and in game but horrible quality shots of the first game.

At least the fourth image of inFamous 2 looks like it has AO behind the sign, the first game had none whatsoever and was a huge weakness of the visuals.

None of this footage impresses me much. He fights like 5 of the exact same enemies (look like they are from Dante's Inferno) and then runs through the street and a bunch of scripted stuff happened, besides the character jumping from wire to wire. Um, am I missing something?

I would say you are. See the list above.

And it seemed like 90% of the cool stuff that happened was scripted. I was under the impression that was gameplay footage. It hardly seemed like anyone was playing.

It's gameplay interjected by cutscenes. They are weaved so tightly that it's seamless.

If the cutscenes are also done in-engine in real-time, sometimes you may not realize that the control is back in your hands. ^_^
