To me PSN + really does not offer anything I want to pay extra for. Only interesting thing is the Full Game Trial, but not because I can get an 1h demo, but because it is an option of not buying BD version, ie I can get the complete game on my HDD. But paying extra to be able to be allowed to buy a digital copy is a bit to rich for me.

The games they are "giving" away, I already have or had no interest in when they go released. Maybe in a few months time, but I doubt it.
Themes and avatars are of little interest also.

Is the Intro offer: LBP game a Blu-ray or downloadable version of the game.
That list for the first two months doesn't seem that lucrative to me, as I already own most of what's on offer, and the rest just doesn't interest me.
I might still get the PSN+, but only if that LBP comes on disc, and I can give it as a gift to someone.

Edit: Ok, I read the LBP is a downloadable copy of the game. I wonder if it'll still be posible to dl it to another PS3 with my account, as normal PSN games are.

You'll be able to buy this game from PSN directly to HDD even without having PSN+. PSN+ just allows you to have a full 1 hour trial.

This is therefore also maybe more interesting than just PSN+: we'll be getting more full disc games up on PSN (though most games now are downloadable titles, inFamous excepted).

hhmmm - mixed feelings on that initial list as I have a good chunk of it already, however I guess if I have PSN+ I won't be buying stuff off PSN, more waiting for an offer or "freebie". All the time I can get PSN cards at a reasonable discount I think I'll get this...certainly the first year will be interesting, I'm still hopeful of some good beta news.

One question I still have is the whole full game trial, what if I buy the BR version (my pref)? Do I lose everything from the trial?

I assumed that it would be possible for none + members to buy full bd releases as a digital version. But I have not seen this verified anywhere, so until then I am not 110% confident that it will happen ;)

I'm 200% confident it will happen, the markup is substatially more and you can't sell it on (and dent future sales) so why wouldn't Sony do it!?

It was in a moderator comment on the EU blog.

I think the PSN+ will eventually show it's worth, but for the 'core' community, it's just not going to happen in the first month. I'm going to buy in day one because I know it's going to change my buying habits. Right now I usually buy things day one, because you never know how long it'll take something to go on sale, and I hate waiting. With PSN+, the free games, discounts, and DLC will significantly alter how I purchase, and it looks like it'll save me a lot of money.

If we are buying games often, Sony would have made a lot of $$$ off us anyway.

I agree the current package is not attractive to frequent buyers (because we would have owned the "hot" games). For people who buy less, the package doesn't entice them to consume more either. Need special services and content not available now. Tough !

Yeah, nunchuck should be possible, and could be interesting - you could do it without worrying about accidentally smashing your own face in. ;) But the full Bruce Lee experience would be a bit tricky, unless you strap two more Move controllers to your feet. ;) (Honestly I wouldn't even mind if it came to that) However, the problem is of course that there's a limit to what kind of thing you can be expected to do in a game - you can't keep doing real flying kicks for instance (or even one, for most people). ;) I see more in an advanced version of something like Tekken, but then one with (slightly) more believable physics, realistic damage, and where you have a lot more control over your actions.

Yes we can.

In fact, I think it'd be a natural extension. We don't have to stick to the same old sports formula. WiiSports Resort adds vacation to sports. Another developer can certainly add movie fantasy to sports.

e.g., Besides Bruce Lee ping ping, this one may work also:

Would be cool to see if the system can judge your "absolute position" after all these transformations.

Game saves and purchased media backup would be a good starting point (to tag to the exclusive PSN+ content)

I don't think Plus will encourage people who buy less to get more, but it will encourage them to play more. I think that's the big catch here. Normally those people wouldn't play a lot, but if they can shell over $50 to get some free content, I think it'll serve as a decent starting point for Sony. If that consumer usually buys two $10 games a year, then this is $30 extra they'll make off of "those" kind of consumers.

In theory, at least.

They need to see their "to-buy" games discounted first though. That saving needs to be more substantial than the PSN+ subscription fees.

... or unless PSN+ offer some exclusive benefits. Not sure if 1 hour demo will anchor enough people.

Well I just did a bit of math, this is only taking into account stuff I keep - so not the "free" games each month...

It's costing me ~ £20 due to getting a great PSN card deal. I'm selling my copy of LBP for ~£5, so cost = £15 (less than £1.50 per month).

Month one unfortunately offers me nothing I don't already have (or have no interest in) however month 2 I can get £2 off the WipeoutHD add-on (which I was considering getting anyway) and the MS:pR DLC (worth £4.79) for 'free'.

So I'm left with 10 months to recoup <£10.

WRT the "free games" often these are games you'll play for a couple of months and then not revisit so even if I stopped the sub I don't think I'd feel it too much, and if I really liked a game I could buy it anyway.

I certainly plan to never buy a game off PSN at full price again (unless I really REALLY must have it day 1!)
