[PS3] Infamous 2

Ooh dont think thats a good thing to say as a dev we still got 2~4 years left of this gen. You're only shooting yourself in the foot(meme)if you say that.

Still the game looks ace i should order the first game when the wallet allows it.
Well the xbox will soon be entering it's 6th year and it uses pretty standard PC archictecture...

Nearly all MS's games are now sub HD to try and close the graphics gap. If the games media had any neutrality they'd be giving MS a black eye about it.

None of this footage impresses me much. He fights like 5 of the exact same enemies (look like they are from Dante's Inferno) and then runs through the street and a bunch of scripted stuff happened, besides the character jumping from wire to wire. Um, am I missing something?

What you are missing is having played Infamous 1 ! All of those who are excited after watching that trialer are people who have immensely enjoyed Infamous 1 !
Try out the demo on PSN, it was the demo that changed me and made me buy Infamous, before that the game play vids looked lame to me and I , anyways, find open world games boring and have never liked a superhero game before. SO, basically, I was in the same league as you, that was untill I played the Infamous demo. After that, my friend....welll, I just bought the game and still enjoy it to the core :D !

inFamous excels in gameplay. The art may not set any trail on fire, but if you like shooters, you should like I1. It's like a platforming TPS with superpower. The story seems interesting enough. At this point, the open world is both a negative and positive factor for me, but I perfectly understand where they want to go with this.

Have they said anything about MP ?

I think it'd be funny if things got repaired and you could smash it again, especially if you could smash it while the repair crew was working on it.

That is a fantastic idea. Zipping a beer can out of a construction worker's hand in the process sounds like a lot of fun.

I dont know, throwing the electric grenades with move could be cool. Take a look at that Scorcery game and i can see a lot of control options that would fit well with infamous. For example have the pointer controls for the standard electic bolt, use the scorcery wand flick motion for the electric grenades where you can control force and trajectory, the whirlwind motion for the electric tornado, maybe an electric barrier by swiping across the floor in front of you etc. All of this could be done on the fly without changing weapons or anything.

We have Sly Cooper coming with move support which would give a good indication of how it could work. Also Heroes on the Move. I suspect it will work much the same as other 3rd person games using move, except in non-aim/platforming mode the move will control camera movement more directly than when using the pointer in aim mode. Or they have to implement a great automatic camera system. Freeform platforming since Mario 64 has been doable with a single analogue stick.

Actually they're adding mini-games to the Sly collection meant to be used for the Move, the main gameplay won't be Move-compatible.

Yep. I think we may have to wait until Heroes on the Move for this kind of game. Heroes on the Move looks to be similar to Zelda with Motion+ I think.

The motion sensing is used for:

1) collecting stars & aiming at enemies by using a small marker that you control using the wiimote.
2) you waggle the wiimote to do a powerup specific move or just spin mario to stun if no power up is equipped.
3) you waggle it when you enter a "warp zone" so that mario is launched to other planet.

That's it.

Nope. I haven't watched any new Zelda video yet. How does the player control Link's platforming and swing ?

The nunchuck has sensor(s). Are they used in any way in Zelda ?

I think cycling in WiiSports Resort uses the nunchuck sensors. You may be able to cheat on Move though, by only tracking the paddling motion on the motion controller. This trick does not handle asymmetric motion game (left and right hands doing different things).

For stuff like bow and arrow, Wii sports uses the accellerometer in the Nunchuck to register pulling the arrow backward. However, that's not really comparable to doing the same with another 1-to-1 device, for obvious reasons.

Everyone says that an analog stick on the Move controller would be great, but I don't buy that - the pressure sensitive A and T buttons are more important, and the analog trigger would get in the way, would probably have to replace the A button and block access to the surrounding cross, circle, triangle and square buttons as well.

I agree partially with you but if 2 Move controllers are the core SP experience, then they should have a dual motion controller bundle and price them competitively. They may forget about the nav controller in the process. :devilish:

Is Sony finance people getting in the way ?
