;)

I'm gonna be loving PGR3 on my Xbox360 come Xmas time. Forza360 can't come soon enough. :p

Nice to see some 3d trees instead of the usual cardboard cutouts.

It's a pity XBOX360 will probably hit Australia at $799 at launch, even though with the current exchange rate it shouldn't be anymore than $499.

Forza on Xbox has very nice 3d trees.

Why would it be $799? Didn't the original XBox launch at $649 in Oz?

I fully expect it to be that much. The original Playstation launched at that price over here. Having said that, I'll be importing thanks... do I want to wait 12 months for less features than NTSC machines? No, thanks.

PGR3 shots look like some of the best I've seen if it's not rendered and representative of the actual game. Nice.

Can anyone see self-reflections in the cars, i.e. other bits of the car reflecting in panels or windows? e.g. a wing mirror reflecting in the side window, or the windscreen reflecting in the bonnet?

Un F'N real this is the kind of stuff they should of showed off on the MTV special. A 30 second video at this level would of sent people into a xbox 360 frenzy. If those are real time I would be shocked. I showed this last pic to some co-workers and to a person they thought it was a pic of a real car. I am no expert but it almost looks like the pic of the yellow car is real picture doctored with photo shop.

Heh, weird resolution pic... (800x600)

I would find it awefully amusing if all these games are targetting 30 fps and be very unimpressed if this is what "next generation Xbox" is all about. It's about time flagship [xbox] developers aim for 60 Hz with their flagship titles (like Tecmo).

that last one of the yellow car is a real photo.... all the others are pgr 3

LOL

looks great though doesn't it, and when people don't question a real photo (albeit with a lot of motion blur) being placed amongst the screen shots you know that the game is looking good.

still a long way from finished too i'd bet... once they get cracking on final hardware i'm sure it'll look even better

50 to 100 thousand IMHO. Unless they're using some HOS, which I personally don't think so.

LOL. The funny part is, that the last pic IS from PGR3.

Oh really? According to who? The last pic looks real or pre-rendered, the other shots which look more like real-time grahpics, although excellent looking, are nowhere near that kind of quality.

hm.... so worst case scenario would be over 700k on screen (7 other cars) + say 100k for environment? 48Mpoly/sec needed for 60fps? I'm probably missing something here, but it seems like there is a ton of power available for such a game. There must be some upper limit to the amount of poly's needed on these cars before normal mapping can be used to fill in details ala the ATI car showcase demo for the R9700.

you aren't talking about the same picture as me... i know that one is from PGR3.

this one is the one i am talking about:

s71.jpg

and it is a real photo... look at the link it's from yourself if you don't believe me. i already knew it was a real photo though as i was reading a thread at teamxbox as it was posted for comparative purposes. how it ended up being posted in here i don't know...

It is hard to say if it is real or not, but I dont think that there is a driver in the car... but it is hard to see anyway.
