Possible picture of Xenon PGR3 ??

realtime or pre-rendered CG ??

I for one think that its entirely possible for that shot (and the other shot someone else posted) could be realtime on Xenon. replay or attract sequence. in realtime. look at PS2 Ace Combat 5's replay graphics, they're incredible.

could not the things that look impossible for realtime like the supposed radiosity or raytracing (in that shot) be faked with Pixel Shader 3.0+ or 3.5 or even just PS 3.0 ??

Pre-rendered, it's not moving on my screen and it's not interactive so it's definitely prerendered

Seriously, I'm sure pics like this will be used in PR as "actual game screen shots" but the image on your gaming screen will again look little worse. Not awfully lot worse, the geometry will likely be there, but the aa will be worse and also the lighting and reflections will look worse in 30fps

Base on the edges, shadow, layer, and other, I say rendered. And those people, especially the two guys talking to each other (far right), looks rendered.

but, but, I woulda thought that the eDRAM in the G|VPU would improve speed / latency alot so that 60fps games are more commen.... oh wait, I'm forgetting the comments that most developers are aiming for 30fps :lol

Nope, real-time.
Looks just like the XNA Crash demo in terms of quality.
Although I would suspect it's from a 'replay' function.

Umm maybe I'm blind but I thought that XNA crash demo looked little better than an Xbox game.

Those people are just cut'n'paste from a photo. Look at the rough edge.

Lets not go back to the 30fps rumor

And now take the initials from the pic I have previously posted:

Oh god... It just came to me... Next gfen games will probably all be running at 1240x720, so that means developers will release screens at around 8000x5000 with 64X AA... :devilish:

I was gonna say maybe we'll be seeing more what I like to call "static cardboard," but "if" this is in fact real-time, then those two guys a mentioned (and some others) are likely rendered. Except maybe those on the back (mix). Maybe they'll continue doing a similar method done on todays game, GT4 to name a few...in this case one.

Aw, you were getting me all excited! I thought I'd see some uber-pics, but what's to get excited about? These could easily be done in real-time. GI maps baked onto the cars and a prerendered 2D backdrop. Looks no better to GT4 save perhaps some AA.

I was hoping for some detailed street scenes with DOF, rel-time soft-lights, and other groovey stuff. I'm disappointed at a few car-corner-closeups

To other readers : if you haven't seen the pics, don't bother. They show nothing but a bit of red body-work.

And not to be nitpicking, but there's also a rendering error on the first picture. On the car. A design error, nothing to do with the hardware in my opinion. But it does stick out.
