Every place I try to look for the PS3's Unreal Tech Demo....it all leads back to IGN.....and I don't want to pay for that crap....

Does anyone know of a torrent for this video?

To you, Killing day looks better than that Athene sculpture?

Laa-Yosh,

I think this generation there will be a lot of confusion between good art and good technology. That statue is nothing special at all. The resolution + AA + high color depth + high quality marbled texture with some basic lighting make it look good. The shadows may not even be dynamic (it may be all static precomputed). I see no reason why DX9 GPUs could not do this (maybe a DX8). Unless I am missing something (please tell!) the sculpture is nothing really special.

It is nice that we will start seeing worlds filled with stuff like this though.

On G4 just now the guy in the green shirt said that Sony has offically said that Killzone is totally realtime. NO CG

I wonder where he got that information from?....I hope he didn't confuse this with something else....this is information that if messed up is on the same caliber as CBS and Newsweek not cheching there sources

Imagine if thats true.....I wonder if its a metal gearish type of scenario where you jump to cutscenes then to gameplay..but its so seamless you can't even tell....

I just watched it....its not the MGS4 for the PS3...its more or less a funny skit. I won't ruin it (it actually pretty funny if you've played through the Metal Gear Games). But at the end it states that the video was NOT created under PS3 hardware.

I watched it. It using the same look as MGS3 not 4. It just dispels some RUMORS about Hideo Kojima.....if your a fan of his work...you'll be very happy....but its NOT the PS3's Metal Gear Solid 4 trailers.....it even states it at the end.....

LOS ANGELES--Last night during Sony's pre-E3 press conference, it was announced that Metal Gear Solid 4 was in development for the freshly unwrapped PlayStation 3. Today, the game was formally announced at Konami's own press event.

First up, Konami announced that Hideo Kojima, creator of the Metal Gear Solid series, would become head of a new internal developer at the publisher. Inventively called Kojima Productions, the studio currently has three projects on its plate--MGS4 and two other Metal Gear Solid titles.

According to Kojima, who was on-hand to show off the games, the concept behind MGS4 will be "nowhere to hide." Set in a future world after Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, the game will see the return of all the major characters from the series, including Solid Snake, Meryl, Otacon, Ocelot. It will also sport an online battle mode.

The second title is Metal Gear Acid 2, the sequel to the PSP card-battling game featuring series hero Solid Snake. The third is Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence for the PlayStation 2, a compilation of Metal Gear Solid, MGS2, and MGS3, as well as eight-person online multiplayer and several new game modes.

The MGS 4 website is already up there in the new Kojima Productions...

http://www.konami.jp/gs/kojima_pro/english/004.html

Hideo Kojima will be in charge of game design, production, and direction. Also directing this game will be promising new prospect Shuyo Murata, who debuted on "Zone of the Enders: the 2nd Runner." Kenichiro Imaizumi will oversee production and character design will be handled by Yoji Shinkawa.
The trailer is done for the PS2 spec for the moment, not on PS3, IIRC.

Does anybody think that the Getaway City was on of the best cities on a next gen console that we have seen so far?

Seeing as we haven't seen ANYTHING running on a next gen console yet, the answer has to be no.

Is Sony going to show anything more at the show. What day is E3 over? Why aren't there many people here talking about this stuff? What happened?

Um, I think we've seen several tech demos and unfinished games running on partial-spec kit for both Xbox 360 and PS3. See Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, Kameo, Need for Speed (360), and ducky demos, "Doc Ock" demos, Fight Night, UT2007 demo (PS3), and several more I haven't mentioned.

About Killzone Demo - From John Davision blog - 1Up

I ran into an old friend from the UK when we were leaving, and it turns out he's now working on Killzone at SCEE. When I asked him how "real" the video we'd just seen was, his response was "just about all of it."

My comments were in regards to a pre-rendered demo. And as you say, the real-time demos were previewed on Dev systems, not final hardware.

I'm bit peeved that there wasn't any actual next gen hardware available at E3.

Secondly, I'm peeved that a lot of comments in these forums and elsewhere are based on mockups of what these next gen consoles 'might' be able to do based on specs.

Kudos go to the Deano and the Heavenly Sword team for producing a movie based on the game's actual engine, but for the most part I don't think we can begin to compare systems when we are looking at 3DSMax renders.

The funny thing is that the only truly playable game that has been demoed on any system so far is PDZ, and that's been universally panned!

Now that's become hilarious  Like to hear those who previously had 'confirmation' on this subject.

Like to hear a little more than I heard it from a friend . Like sony announcing what was real time and what wasn't .
