Recently something really weird happened to my 24h B-Spec race. 4 hours before the end of the race, I check my progress and everything is great. I come back 30 minutes before the end of the race, my controller do nothinng and my X2010 pilot, is a REAL pilot because he pilots in the skies and in a floating land

The annoying part is that the time ended and it wouldnt return back to the original menu. My driver was stuck at 80MPH in doing endless loops.
24hours wasted
Ok. It looks like the file management in GT5 is fucked up. I raced my B-Spec driver in the same event and at around 17 and something hours when I tried to change cameras the cursor got stuck and the track begun to collapse. When the cursor was unstuck the track looked similarly to the images I got above.
I believe the game streams the track from the HDD and for some reason its data were either corrupted or messed.
I saved my race and went back in multiple times. The result was the same. I installed the game nothing. The same.
I logged in to a different profile so I wouldnt loose my progress in the endurance and entered the options to uninstall all installed data from the HDD.
Loaded again the game from my main profile and voila it works.
This is the fifth time I get issues due to the file management.
1) When I posted the bug in the quoted post above
2) When my PS3 would get seriously slow and get stuck for a minute everytime I pressed the home button during the race
3) When I installed the game after I made progress and the cursor would need minutes until it could be moved in the menu screen. I had to uninstall and install the data
4) When one of the b-license tests would get stuck into a black loading screen until I uninstalled and installed the game
5) The second time the track collapses
And one last thing. If you happen to delete manually your GT5 data from the Utility folder (which includes also the updates) in the XMB DO NOT enter the game from your main profile because you will lose ALL your progress. The game will either not load correctly destroying your save if you update, or you may not update and load the game which will also destroy your game data! You will not be able to update the game fully and continue from where you left off.
To correct this instead load the game from a mock profile or a secondary profile and update it from there. AFTER that you should load your game from your main profile!
I discovered this after I destroyed my progress and spent hours experimenting to recover it! Its impossible. I had an older save in a USB which I experimented with as well and found this solution as the only remedy in case you delete manually your GT5 data from the Utility folder in the XMB.
