When it was first announced that GT Academy would be coming to the United States, it was also mentioned that the competition would air as a reality show on SPEED TV in the fall of 2011, with host Kristen Adams. Now, we finally have air dates for the program according to SPEED TV’s website:

A batch of new Time and Drift Trials have gone live in Gran Turismo 5, along with a revised Online Car Dealership that highlights Mercedes-Benz.
Grand Valley Speedway hosts the first Time Trial for Japanese cars weighing no less than 1200kg, and Circuito de Madrid Mini hosts the second for front-wheel drive cars weighing no less than 800kg. The Drift Trials are held at the Daytona Road Course and Cote d’Azur. As of writing, though, there are no new Seasonal Events.
Polyphony Digital has also revised the GT5 online service update schedule they originally published last month. The game’s online features will now be unavailable during the following maintenance periods:
September 9, 2011, between 10:00AM and 6:00PM EST (convert to your time zone)
September 15, 2011, between 10:00AM and 6:00PM EST (convert to your time zone)

Tune in tonight as Gran Turismo 5 makes its primetime television debut on Speed Channel with GT Academy, a five-part reality show featuring GT Academy and the fierce competition that gave the nation’s top 16 Gran Turismo drivers a chance to become a professional race car driver. The first episode airs tonight at 10 pm EST, followed by new episodes airing every Tuesday on Speed Channel during the same timeslot (please check your local listings for timing and updates).
Following up from the announcement last week, the leader boards for the Mercedes Live Race Seasonal Event have now been reset, and a few minor changes have been made to the Top Gear Test Track via the latest Gran Turismo 5 update.

You’ll be prompted to download update “1.13″, though Polyphony Digital’s formal announcement describes it as version “1.12.572″. Regardless, it weighs in at only 1.1MB.
More interesting is the new Seasonal Event, “Supercar Revival”, featuring classic cars with no more than 550PP in the following races:
Rome Circuit (5 laps, 419,000 Cr.)
Special Stage Route 5 (5 laps, 480,000 Cr.)
Suzuka Circuit (5 laps, 519,600 Cr.)
Nurburgring Nordschleife (1 lap, 559,500 Cr.)
Mt. Aso 109A (7 laps, 500,400 Cr.)
There’s a corresponding update to the game’s Online Car Dealership, along with new time trials at Tokyo R246 and Cote d’Azur, and new drift trials at Special Stage Route 5 and Circuit de la Sarthe 2009.

Has PD considered competition and what fans want? DLC is one of the most important aspects and a certainty for the consumer, that so far PD has neglected
