Uh... How did it seem good to you?

He threw a grenade infront of the pillar, and 2 "pieces" of debris fell off the pillar, problem being that the pieces where on the other side of the pillar (left front) while the grenade was thrown to the right front.

The side closest to the pillar should have had destruction aswell, in fact, it should have had more destruction than the side where the debris fell off!

It doesn't make any sense at all.
You didn't notice that his grenade bounced a good ways from the pillar before going off? Some of the higher velocity shrapnel COULD have been the ones moving where the pillar received damage. Lower velocity pieces COULD have been registered by the game as not being fast or big enough to cause damage.

If the pillar already breaks at the right place when shot at, there is no technical reason why it can't break at the right place for a grenade. It's most likely a resource constrain or a work-in-progress. I don't think sophisticated physics is needed here (Just some geometry work ?).

Are we really picking apart this game now for things like that?

Jeeze, people never cease to amaze me. It's damage. How many games this generation have absolutely no consequence throwing grenades? DOZENS. I really do not see the need to pick it apart when it's already doing much more than a great handful of games.

On a game related note, I gave it some more time last night, and I was starting to warm up to it...until I got a network error and it froze up :p

Either way, game performed fantastically, ran pretty smooth (though I was playing on my girlfriends small TV).

I don't know yet if I am a fan of the toggle aiming. It certainly makes shooting less stressfull, as I don't have to hold it while I shoot on and off again, but I have to "think" more while playing. Still undecided :p

GG is trying to create a convincing game world. They even built life-sized models to make sure they are of the right proportion. I think they should continue to surprise us with atmospheric elements.

However I do agree "which part of the pillar falls off" is not impactful. The presence of destructibility and how it affects gameplay is more interesting.

Nope. I am without a KZ2 beta key too.

I prefer to wait this time (Not that I can change the situation ;-)). Still need to complete Bioshock, plus a few other new games. Then create a LBP level.

Oh seriously I would play the MP beta over any shooter right now, it so completely outclass every console shooter on the market in graphics/gameplay/anything. They must have put a TON of time designing the levels and tuning the movement and shooting because the MP BETA Warzone mode did everything the R2 MP competitive tried to do but couldn't, and the game still has four months to go, simply crazy.

You're in the beta ?

The R2 competitive MP is not bad, but KZ2 seems to have a lot of depth. I like this competition between R2 and KZ2 though. There is a limit on what Insomniac can do to improve R2, but I don't think they will take it sitting down. ^_^

I disagree :)

I've been playing both, and enjoy Resistance 2 far more.

Nevermind. You found the GIF I was about to show, Patsu.

That's because R2 is totally AWESOME ;)

I prefer Killzone 2 multiplayer to be honest with you, although FPS games really are not for me.

 It is AWESOME :p

It's not that KZ2 multiplayer is bad, because it's not. It's fantastic. I just really really enjoy R2 and it's weapons.
