The last section of the last level is frustrating.
That's what I have been saying since the beginning
Don't forget the art + technology integration too. I would be VERY p*ssed if some of the lessons learned are not passed to other teams.
Did anybody catch any TV ads for KZ2? I live in the US and I have yet to witness any commercials on this game. Sony is really dropping the ball if they do not advertise the game. The game is less then 2 weeks away.
Killzone 2 Live Orchestra-Visari's Lament.
Quite excellent, I think.

The thing Guerilla Games did right was play-test the crap out of the game from early on and get the levels right, leaving more time for the artists to work on the levels and pay attention to all the little details, that and their programmers reallly did an amazing job putting together a rendering engine that can push a lot of effects like self-shadowing everything and multiple dynamic light sources.

Anything anyone wants to know about the game. Ask and I will try and give you the answers
Just wanted to comment on the whole lag thing. I downloaded the demo at my sisters house (she has a 46" CRT rear-projection TV) and playing at her house compared to playing on my 46" Samsung LN46A650 120hz LCD, there was noticeably less lag. Mind you, my sister is using composite RCA (I know I know, she needs to get an HDMI cable) - not sure if this has any relevance.
Anyway, the Samsung A650 series has known to have input lag. A lot of other LCD's too because of all the processing in the TV itself. That's why a lot of HDTV's have game modes now. Unfortunately for me, the A650's game mode prevents you from tweaking certain picture settings, and because I use my PS3 for both BR and games, I prefer not to use the game mode. But yeah, after playing at my sister's house, I definitely notice slight lag in the controls. This is the first game where I've noticed it, probably because GG made the weapons feel weighty. Playing at my sisters house, the controls felt great to me.
So yeah, if your HDTV has a game mode, I recommend trying that out. I'm tempted to get a standalone blu-ray player now so I can use game mode on my PS3 and use my calibrated TV settings for my BR player.
How long did it take you to finish it Deep? Would you say it's longer than FEAR 2 if you've ever finished that game? How satisfying was the SP experience if compared to R2 and Gears2? Thanks mate.
Really? I've never actually tried.
I'm a frequent poster at a certain AV forum but I haven't really payed any attention to the input lag thread for the A650 series, because again, this is the first game I've noticed it. I do know that a lot of people are using HDMI2/DVI with the PC label, and this is supposodly even better than Game mode. Doing that will make it a lot harder to turn it on/off. I'll try that out when I get home.
Thanks for the tip.
Yes it does, but it gives you far more options than Game mode does. Game mode pretty much greys everything out and the PQ isn't exactly what I would call good. It has the backlight and sharpness on high, and edge enhancement appears to be on. The only way to tweak the backlight, is by changing the Energy Saving mode setting. This is fine, however I usually have Energy Saving mode OFF and this setting applies to all inputs, so I would have to turn it on and off all the time. The only way around this, would be to keep Energy Saving mode on Low and turn up my backlight to compensate. The PQ in Game mode doesn't look TOO bad, and I don't really care how accurate the picture is for games.Doesn`t assigning the input to PC grey out some options as well ? I don`t know about the newer Samsungs , but on my M86 the game mode screws up the colour so I never use it.
I just use the film mode with all the fancy stuff disabled , which is better for movies as well (as long as they come from dvd or bluray).
