There are plenty of games out now that looks very good IMO for the PS2..
It would be incredible if PS3 could do 1 TF or more...considering that World's fastest Supercomputer (Earth Simulator in Japan) does apprx 35 TF....sounds incredible but a supercomputer in every home...LOL!
This development could worry Bush (if he runs for presidency 2nd time ) as Cell could be used for simulating Nuclear Explosions and other weapons programs....LOL!

The fact that developers have proved that it is possible to get good IQ out of PS2 nullfies your arguement completely. Take Baulders Gate as an example - next to being one of the prettiest games on PS2, it has superb IQ. The average PS2 game might have worse image quality than the majority of DC games - that's a limitation of the developers though, not the hardware.

I dont care about DC. but it is just some of you are trying their best to bypass PS2 image flaws(include textures). Reminds me about bitter DC fanboys and thier Shenmue fetish.
My faith in Sony technology took a hit with PS2. I did give it time, enough time to hope to see Emotion Synthesis, CLUT, minimal shimmereing and 480p materialise, but it failed to response. I got the Xbox and it was graphiX bliss and that was it for my PS2 hopes.
Now im wary about PS3 hype. I see people hyping that "dream" machine but have they forgetten how PS2 hype fell flat on their faces so soon?

yeah chap, I feel your pain. Last time I was let down was upon hearing all this hype about the GPU and CPU of Xbox being at least 3x more powerful than current consoles - and what did I get? Games with superb IQ, but pitful framerates, still aliasing in most cases, over use of blur etc. Surely the 'PS2 KILLAH'!!
I guess the moral is, not everyone's needs can be satisfied. I am glad you enjoy the graphics of your Xbox, but let other people decide with what their happy with etc. Just because you're impressed with Xbox graphics doesn't mean everyone has to be aswell or disappointed what other hardware has to offer. Everyone is entitled to an opinion and you should respect them. To each their own.

as i said many times before in other threads, EVERYONE hypes its products, and im sorry to say that Sony will never be able to do it in such a way to be considered *arrogant* by some people... because that is how microsoft looked in the eyes of many people. and it's rather embarrassing seeing the difference between hype and reality for the Xbox..... in respects of the pure graphics power and also sales of the console itself.
Xbox games sure look great and most times better than PS2 games... what do u expect?
Sony never ever stated that PS2 would stand up against 2 years younger hardware. still it puts out pretty *decent* things like ZOE2 and Silent Hill 3....

Gubbi i think London-boy reflected all Chap´s previous post and come to the simple conclusion that whatever he or somone else on this forum has said to him he completely ignores that.

What? I goes stinky on the PS2 because it is a Sony product? Nonsense!!! I am just disappointed in PS2 graphiiX. It is just that.
disappointed me + once bitten twice shy me + seeing history repeating me = helping to play down the hype.
Xbox might yet to display that truely clean CG dancing demo, but all its good games have really nice graphiiX and if you are sitting back and enjoying the graphiiX, some of them do look CGish. Very nice looking hardware power. Xbox came closer, much closer to displayin the graphiiX promise than PS2.
Now we have threads about the miraculous(as Nvidia guy would say) PS3 and the clock rewinds and start over again.
I am wary because:
1)PS3 uses multiple general purpose CPUs.
2)Sony admitted it is "crazy" architecture.
3)How much expertise does IBM have with graphiiX(Sony fubared the PS2).
4)Some developers already voiced their concerns about creating content on PS3.
5)Broadband Grid crap.
6)ATi CEO expect it to be brute polygon pushing again, lack of hw pixel effects?
