it's incredible. Great job here by PD.https://www.youtube.com/embed/qcNjarLGcoA ... headlights back on track?
I'd say I'm disappointed but that would be a lie.The only con I found in the video was this:

Ugly noticeable pattern. And nope, it won't go away no matter how much AO or beveling PD may put in their game.
I think we would all know that.I'd say I'm disappointed but that would be a lie.
Good comment! I'm always surprised by people going crazy over replay. Sure it is an achievement to make them look good but gameplay visuals are what matters. You don't go into photomode and tell other people hey GTS looks that good.Just note that this is once again all replay footage...and we all know that replay ≠ gameplay in GT & FM (more light sources cast shadows etc..)

It's hard not to love replays. They mimic the TV replay angles which we are so used to seeing watching motor sports; that it's hard to not identify with it and say, hey that's looks just like TV, that's amazing! It does help with the imagination a bit more than a still photo. It also helps show where the team is thinking in terms of tech for the next go around. Not critical, no. But maybe almost a preview of the next gen version.

Replay =/= Photo mode. Replay mode doesn't look drastically different than gameplay in GTS. I'm not even sure more light sources cast shadows... I'd like to see a source for this claim, or proof. I thought there was just an added depth of field effect and motion blur added to the wide angle replay shots. When you switch the replay to driver/gameplay view (bumper, cockpit, chase), I don't think there are any enhancements.Good comment! I'm always surprised by people going crazy over replay. from what I understand, 4 Pro replays are 60fps, and PS4 replays are 30fps. (what I read, if anyone can confirm that would be great). But if true, then we know the replay mode is running significantly higher settings than the game mode.Replay =/= Photo mode. Replay mode doesn't look drastically different than gameplay in GTS. Anyway, here's a nice little comparison between GTS Replay vs real-life:
It is true that 4Pro replays are 60fps, but I don't think you can definitively come to that conclusion. If DoF and motion blur cause the framerate to be too jarringly uneven on base PS4, PD may have opted to lock it to 30fps instead. Replays in the beta on 4Pro aren't a locked 60fps either, it's an unlocked/uncapped framerate.from what I understand, 4 Pro replays are 60fps, and PS4 replays are 30fps. Intuitively I'm guessing settings are ramped up during replays, many games do it, so I'm thinking GTS would take advantage of the available resources as well. How much is available or how far they take it is...It is true that 4Pro replays are 60fps, but I don't think you can definitively come to that conclusion. 4Pro also rendered the beta at 1800c vs 1080p on base PS4 and had a more stable framerate in gameplay IIRC.
You can compare gameplay vs replay yourself. Using gameplay camera views there's no noticeable difference to my eyes. I do notice DoF and motion blur in the wide angle shots.
Settings would be locked in before the replay is loaded. Certain settings, like MSAA, textures etc can't be adjusted on the fly (like a cockpit switch), so the settings would be set during loading.in my memory in ever racing games i played that have a replay mode, in cockpit view it's the same settings as gameplay, like in forza, when you swith from "TV" cameras to cockpit view, the game would switch from 30 to 60fps.
