Things I care about:
1. No reuse of PS2 assets.
2. A career mode that doesn't consist almost entirely of "start in the back and win within 3 laps" races.
3. Menu screens that don't take five days to load.
4. Car modifications that make sense, i.e. no tuning the "Engine computer" in a 1968 Mach 1.
Things I don't care about:
1. The radio knobs on the car interior.
2. Taking pictures of the headlamps in photo mode.
As impressive as the models are, the last two games have been just plain bad and unfun. The sheer awfulness of GT5 was defended on how a scant ~300 of the cars looked really nice in photo mode. I'm not keeping my fingers crossed after having been bamboozled again with GT6, but if they actually put together a good game this time, I'll get it.
