Formula 1 - 2012 Season

Fernando Alonso proved himself as the best driver on the grid and let's keep our fingers crossed he will win his third world championship title this season. :D

Forza Ferrari and Viva Alonso!

You seriously think it's just about the driver, not the car? Ferrari might have been crap first couple races, but it's not anymore, not by far.

edit:
I was at Ruisrock festival today, but based on what I read, apparently red flags were called becaus Alonso (and possibly Hamilton & Vettel) were crying because they can't stay on track.
Like Eddie said, if you can't keep on track or spin, you're doing something wrong. What a bunch of f'ing pussies

Perhaps they should just be driving boats and then there would be no complaints about standing water.

everyone was going off the track, they where aquaplaning on the straights and puddles in the middle of corners meant people where instantly losing traction.

if you had watched qually you would have seen how good Alonso's save ("cant stay on the track") was.

there are two things to separate here
1. the red flaggin of qually
2. what happens after that

the red flag was 100% justified.

i see now that that your in the eddy Jordan category of crazy.

Both but in this particular case, yes. See where Felipe is. Or you suspect they are giving him a different car?

About the standing water and tyres.
I have the impression that 10 years ago tyres were better and in such extreme conditions there were races. I mean the quality of the tyres is lower now. Do you think so too?

Yeah, it's not like Ferrari to give their drivers unequal/different cars is it......

Not saying that would make any difference, but come on!!! Such a statement is stupid.

Alonsos tires dead? Gorsjean made 2 unbelieveable passes earlier, too

Kobayashi got to the new Carmageddons beta-test?

I'll just leave this here:

(I'm surprised Kaotik didn't post this...if he were talking about Hamilton its the sort of thing that would have appeared 0.000001 seconds after being published)

I think Jordan's comments in that article pretty much hit the nail on the head. It wasn't a particularly bad incident - the Monaco+Valencia incidents were worse examples of poor driving.

Both Maldonado and Perez were on fresh tyres and as such trying to overtake on the outside of the chicane like that was a bit ambitious. You're putting yourself in the position where the other driver has to compromise his racing line to give you space and if that other driver is Maldonado, well, ya know. He did the same to Raikonnen a bit earlier and forced him wide, although he did let him pass soon after.

Perez, like Maldonado in Valencia, probably should have waited a few more corners before making the pass under DRS.

Not a word about today's quali?
For me it was really entertaining and I'm pleased for Schumacher 4th which became 3rd as I admire his motivation and skill.
Obviously Alonso did his magic again and what McLaren drivers were complaining yesterday about, hit them today hard.

It should be very interesting race as quite a few very fast cars in dry will start from the back or mid-field. Lotus, Sauber, Ferrari to name few of them :D

A little O.T
I was playing a F1-70's mod for r-factor and I kept hearing a strange whistling noise, turns out there was a gas turbine powered car in F1 the Lotus 56

Horrible car to drive because the engine takes that long to spool up you have to press the accelerator about 2 seconds before you actually want to accelerate.

Alonso is good but not really "that magic", Massa just isn't where he should be, which makes Alonso look that much better and even "magic" in some cases.
The quali pretty much repeated what we already knew anyway - Red Bull is strong always, Lotus sucks when it's cold (inclduing rain, they can't get enough heat to tires), Ferrari rocks when it's cold and McLaren is always a mystery with no real patterns.
