DriveClub by Evolution Studios [PS4]

The thing that triggered me to get it, other than a desire to get my first next-gen console (I always end up with everything in a generation in the end), was the comments that it feels like PGR. While I love sim racing, PGR4 has been my most enjoyable driving game in the last decade.

Looking forward to seeing it in person, the visuals look pretty spectacular in places and it looks like a fun game to get me started on my adventure with this new generation of tech.

There are some spectacular parts to see and the game itself is very fun, but I just can't believe they decided to leave most of the game as a greyed out environment. Especially now that London is going grey? I don't need any more grey in my life!

Well, it's not like you can't setup your own race though if you need some sun. ;)

Yeah but I'm still going through the tour where you can't select anything. Single races for me are just training grounds so far.
I don't know, the whole game seems to be very unsaturated. Even the menus are a dead red colour...
Or maybe I'm depressed and I can't see properly.
In some weather conditions the whole bloody thing is just grey! And lifeless! The Scotland tracks are SO depressing. Yes it's realistic but come on!!

Finally got my last star with 7400 points on the Pagani drift race.

My advice for the hardest drift races, be patient, learn to better control the cars by doing all the others SP races before, and don't insist too much on one specific drift race.

My best scores were often the first tries.

Well it's so overcast that sometimes I can't even see te colour of the green/red flags until I'm very close. After a few rounds I'll remember what they are as I'll remember them but still....
I firmly believe that I'd have a lot more fun if it didn't feel like I was driving at 5pm in English country roads on a cloudy Wednesday, trying to get home after a whole day at work. Depresh!

Finally picked up a PS4 (well, I pick it up today!) and I grabbed DriveClub as my first game. I'm wondering what the single player offline experience is like, given the online multiplayer issues being experienced at the moment.
It starts a bit slow...but it really picks up and gives a fantastic experience. Just finished the Legend Trophy...9/9 stars :)

Join a good high level club. This unlocks some good cars which makes the latter challenges a bit easier (thanks Arwin's club!!).

SP is really great. I like also the small online challenges that pop up. Speed in the last events is insane! Venom hot lap is difficult to 3-star imo...

Nice! I finished all events now and have 201/225 stars...the drifts are really challenging, but also some high speed traps.

Btw, you are quite fast you bastard!! :)

For some reason I feel that the PS+ edition is canceled. The november list of free games dont list it either
