I don't have a doubt that the gameplay will be solid, but I don't like these stories about failed human civilization at all.
 
Yeah, I actually really like the post apocalyptic genre but robot dinosaurs seems silly at face value. But I'm willing to give the story a fair shot. Maybe it'll all make perfect sense! Maybe.
 
It's as if Skynet was connected to the dinosaur-Wikipedia page before it connected to the rest of the world hence dinosaur terminators instead of humanoid terminators.

The real story is probably a bit more complex but I am pretty sure that is a logical explanation for the adversaries in the game

Horizon Zero Dawn is an expensive game but not very expensive the production cost are at least 45 millions euros/47 millions of dollars without marketing...

At peak 250 people's and 100 in China. 6 years of development including preproduction with 20 people's.

In 2013, after the publication of the fourth volume of Guerilla's Killzone series, the rest of the studio plunges on the project, 250 people in the Netherlands and another hundred in China sculpt the parts into a whole. "We talk constantly to know what everybody is doing," says Wolterbeek Muller.

Playing on hard, feels totally normal till now.

6 hours in and I just can't put it down! Love how emotional the story is told and Aloy as a character, she's absolutely attached to me now. The gameplay gets better and better as you progress and I only just learned

, it's so much fun to roam around and destroying low class Watchers and Striders with your "ride". And the graphics dear god, my eyes weren't prepared for 4k HDR on the Pro..

how refreshing it is to see a game without zombies, they are a plague.
 
played around one hour ( well 40min gameplay and 20 photomode)
it's really good, graphics are beautiful, there are some shortcuts (no interaction with most of the foliage, some low res textures, no intereaction with water)
characters look really good but facial expressions not so much.
Gameplay and performance are solid.

nice captures,my favourite is the first, the boar isn't bad either, though what impressed me the most is the skin pores in a close/up
 
So gorgeous to look at but man but the combat is sublime. Every encounter is pure joy and the only combat skills I've invested in are slowtime aiming and improved spear attack. When you die, it never feels like you died a cheap death because you lost control or she didn't react. It's because you fucked up by not paying attention to your surroundings, got over confident or was not watching your resources.

I've never been more meh about a game's premise and yet been sucked into the world so quickly. It feels like there's no learning curve, the combat mechanics feel so intuitive. :yes::runaway::love:
