give him a break guys, he is just coming back from injury and he need times, he is a very talented, creative player, just be patient, he will eventually deliver the good but i hope he doesnt deliver it if Italy is to play against Australia in the second round.
Don't get me wrong, considering the size of his brain, he's a football genius. And of course he just got back from a really bad injury, which proves my point: Why is he playing so much when there are better (fitter) players on the bench?!
Lippi, you're useless!!

One thing that worries me a bit about NZ, Aus and England winning so much on a global level is that eventually we'll see footballers wearing white polo shirts, strange hats and will try to hit the ball with big wooden bats...

And the Aussies are through too. Looks like it was a rather "robustly contested" match against Croatia (3 red cards!).
Some of it was, but one of the "2nd" yellows was for a handball. The ref was quite calm most of the way through until one late booking when another player appeared to pull the whistle out of the ref's mouth!

It was an exciting match to watch, but I think it took a year off my life :???:

But at least I got some exercise watching it - the rugby tackle on Viduka in the penalty area had me jumping off the sofa.:p

Hey! LB, since you're Italian... What is the full name of the oldest football club in Italy? (Hint);)

Anyway, haven't you noticed the umpires in Australian Rules football wear the same clothes as cricket umpires (or at least they used to)? It's all connected.

The funny thing is, if somehow Croatia had managed to score a goal in last seconds, the match would have surely been replayed due to the ref's mistake of not sending off the Croatian player after his second yellow card: that's one of the few cases for which a match will be replayed.

its good to see Brazil show a little bit of form for a change. grats to ronaldo for getting back some of his magic - i love seeing him in action, a true goal scoring machine!

yeah, felt good to see brazil play like that. But what was up with the white shorts? I havent keept up with their uniform do's and dont's, but they certainly looked goofy in yellow/white.

epic

brazil has played in white shorts before. i think they changed because japan had blue shorts.

to randell - ronaldo is still a little slow but as you saw he is still very dangerous.

Their normal blue shorts would have clashed with the Japanese strip, hence the change.

No, it wouldn't have been replayed. Due to the time constraints of the WC tournament, it would have been ruled by a committee. Thus turning the hypothetical 3:2 for Croatia in an 0:3 against them.
