I really hope Ghana will qualify, not only would it be a pitty to go into the final round without an african team, but they played really well too, even when they lost 2:0 to Italy.

I think its strange how the african teams play excellent in defence and midfield most of the time, even create many chances up front, but are absolutely horrible at scoring goals. Even Ivory Coast, who arguably played the best football of any african team this WC so far (Ghana close second) needed 2 penalties to win their game yesterday, despite being the MUCH better team overall and having like 20+ shots on goal. Most african players are in European Clubs, have international experience and the forwards are often highly acclaimed, its just weird to see them miss so many good chances...

give him a break guys, he is just coming back from injury and he need times, he is a very talented, creative player, just be patient, he will eventually deliver the good but i hope he doesnt deliver it if Italy is to play against Australia in the second round.

Well deserved too. They're variable, but have shown some great plays in all their matches. A little more consistency, and Italy - who haven't been dominant either - could be in for it.

Nah. 2x2 yellows for the first pair of reds, nothing ugly but fair enough, and the final one for bitching (edit: Ah, I didn't notice him getting the second yellow earlier. I guess it was just Poll finally catching up to 1+1=2.) at the referee (i think it was even after the final whistle).

Wow, i was truely disapointed in the US team. They played with concrete shoes through out the tourney. Quite a large part of the blame lies squarely at the coaches lineup decisions.

we like to come from behind, the game against Japan was the best comeback of all time and now this---they are really living up with their reputation-------dark horse.

Not only with his adding, he and his team overlooked so many things that they were partially responsible for the escalation in the last few minutes. Honestly, that was the worst referee performance so far.

grats to australia, i didnt expect us to get this far. really was suprised! i think we deserved to be in the top 16 after the way we played, im not keen on our chances against italy -theyre much better team but we have a very strong fighting spirit and unity and will work in our favour. People are saying we might have a chance - will be like greece in euro if we beat them - except we are playing better(more attacking football) and i love it. greece bored me to tears.
