Tom Clancy's The Division [PS4, XO]

The cover mechanic have their own mini game to it.

Hold while peeking to crawl around corner
Move camera and stay for a sec to draw a planned movement from cover to cover

The weird things is after you initiate the move from cover to cover, the game will just make your character standing like a dumb person instead of automatically put them on cover again.

Btw I just completed the story mission.

What a boring battle... And an antithesis of everything that the division stands for "freedom of engagement"

It became destiny. You camp here and shoot the boss.

This just can't be a coincidence!

It's full of boxes and there's also dogs!

diamond dogs!

No wonder that this game allows you to troll the enemies

Addicted. The city is so interesting, and I'm constantly running into missions/encounters, collectibles, random bosses or just funny situations. I think it's a better game than destiny. The missions, on the hard setting, and as you progress through the game, are incredibly challenging.

Unfortunately those are the usual ubisoft busy work. And repeat at nauseum.

I know I know, we are a bunch of sokdiestthst follows orders so I just need to follow orders...

The missions are pretty well done. The story is disappointing, overall. The idea is good, and there's some good bits and pieces here and there, but there's not much of an overall story arch. The game is more about atmosphere than plot. As far as gameplay goes, it's very good. The bosses could be a little more interesting, but the game is challenging enough that it's enjoyable. They got the difficulty right if you play on hard mode. The game doesn't swing between easy and hard. It stays pretty much hard from the start.

Thats how I felt playing Hard missions in the beta. Loving ur impressions, hope my copy arrives sson !

GOt the game and liking it !

IS anyone else having issues with signing in ? I played for about an hour or more smoothly but since then I just keep getting signed out :(

So I'm level 25 and just did two missions with a 4-man group on hard mode. They were easier than the missions earlier in the game. Seems like the difficulty scaling is starting to go off course a bit. It was still fun, but I had no real fear of us failing the missions at any point. Late game gear is maybe scaling up too fast.

theres also a problem for people that dont like to "catch em all"..
completed the story mission, greeted with HUGE banner saying "go to DZ for awesome loot, theres also challange mode, etc".

but why would i waste time and spend effort doing that? the game is already easy enough and i already completed the missions. There;s only side mission and mini quests left. Those are very easy and short.

why i would want better gears? O_O

i also filled with money from DZ and PvE mode. I don't know what to buy in PvE mode because i keep getting new items. on the other hand, i can't buy anything using DZ money because i still DZ rank 20 (it need minimum rank 30 to buy).

he should have maxxed the filter level first before going to DZ. really useful to use pockets of radiation to lure other agents to their own death :)

whether you are being chased by rogue or when you are hiding when become rogue.

Loving the game as well. The shooting mechanics are nowhere near as tight as Destiny, but everything else is a welcome change. I literally haven't played anything since Destiny came out, save for a few hours of CoD so this is a breath of fresh air. I'll still play Destiny simply because the shooting mechanics/gunplay are just so good.

The Division a little too complicated for my tastes with how much in-depth you can go into with your build, but I'll worry about that when I'm higher level. Right now I'm lvl 19.

grand central is a great mission.
Every mission is great in term of "freedom of engagement"

No silly "turn back in x seconds" or "kill barrier" like Destiny.

Heck, each mission allows you to flank, troll, snipe, trap, and anything in between.

But it seems most people on reddit (dunno in other community) did not appreciate this freedom of engagement. My post about it in Destiny and the division always getting down voted to oblivion lol.

That is what I am loving most in missions. Its like a small sandbox where I can always try and sneak around and flank ! This Napalm mission, forget the name, was so good in regard to this freedom. ALl my teammates were going head-on while I was always on the side flanking and eventually made it behind the enemy , above them and hammered them to hell ! :D

Also, missions play out differently each time, thanx to the wide open spaces. At one point I was unable to beat a bunch of flamers. in one of the tries they climbed this elevated position and massacred me from there. The next try I camped there and massacred them ! !

ITs funny reviewers are not applauding this freedom and good level design. This is what is lacking in most of the games !

Yup the AI also frigging smart for modern video game. They can re-flank you if the battle goes too long :D

But yeah it's disappointing that no review mentioned this freedom of engagement. Even ars technica says the enemy are dumb!

They are not dumb! It's just... They are slow thinking! Let them alive a wee longer and they will use their brains.

Maybe reviewer plays this game too many in co-op and with high level?

I keep playing story mission underleveled lol. Coop or single, always underleveled. I completed the last mission while still under level 25.

Maybe in the future ubisoft can make the enemy think faster? Or maybe in the raid next week, ubisoft will unleash the true enemy AI
