Gran Turismo 5 Prologue (North America) - 820,000

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue (Europe) - 2,330,000

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue (Asia) - 100,000

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue (Japan) - 690,000

Total: 3,940,000

That is very impressive. I believe only Metal Gear Solid 4 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare/World at War have sold more, and the former is the only exclusive.
Add GTA4 to that list. But yeah, impressive for a Prologue.

But with those kind of numbers they might have already recouped a tonn of GT5 costs :)

What did it sell for again, 20-30USD?

In Europe most people will have paid 40 euro, so yeah, their income will have received a nice boost. It's probably a very expensive game though.

Just listened to this weeks 1up podcast. Seems like they have reason to believe GT5 is going to get a release date announced at the conferece in Germany on the 18th, and that the release date will be in 2009.

Could be interesting am looking forward to the show, there is potential for Slim anouncement, pricecut and GT5 this year all in one go. They may even be planning Slim to launch with a GT5 bundle!

Omg, youtube export for online replays? That's a big dream come true for me right there. Face tracking for cockpit camera is also one that makes my heart beat faster. Car flipping over is a big change for the series, if I read that one right, and I'm not so much excited for the feature itself as I am for the change in physics simulation that allows.

If I read right that only 170 cars have both damage and cockpit support, and that the other 800 don't have cockpit support, then that's a disappointment to me. Hopefully they mean that the other 800 do have cockpits but no damage, but hmm. And of course it's nice to see the Prius back in (it was in GT4 Prologue) but that's just because I own one and it's not important.

No mention yet of pitstops, fuel consumption and tire wear, but I'm assuming those will still be in. Still would be nice to have it confirmed though.

But the upload to youtube thing for online replays, ah, that's such a big thing for the online racing community, it's hard to explain how excited I am about that.

They are obviously not finished with the game as they haven´t set the final number of courses, hence no release date given. Still that feature list looks nice. :D

Things that fucking excite me in bold!

This thing is a monster!! I mean WOW!

The features and effort they put in this is unbelievable!!

But can someone explain me what are the red parts supposed to imply??

It means only 170 cars have interior view and damaged. The rest don't like GT4. Well 170 still a lot of cars.

I'm thinking that maybe they mean that the damage is of the interior also, i.e. that the interior of the car can also get damaged. Probably wishful thinking, but still ...

They only managed 170 cars in what ? 3 years ? If they do all premiums it'll be on PS5 instead. The standard type are the models from that GTHD online they were planning even demoed at some points but canned it due to backlash from fans. It's basically GT4 models with higher quality texture and stuff, do you guys remember ?
