How can you steal something you have owned for like the past however many years, but I get what you mean.
They got a good spanking last year though.

How much as GH sold? People talk about it being big, but has it sold loads and loads and loads? A look at VGChartz suggests about 5 million for the series. That's less than EyeToy's with Play. If Rock Band is going to cost as much as people are suggesting, is it really going to sell that much on any platform? I understand the appeal of the game, but I can't see it being a phenomenon unless they give away the peripherals.I would rate this rumor in the "not likely" category but IMO such an announcement would be nearly "megaton". I think people underestimate how big this game will be.

two separate packages of the Xbox Live Vision Camera are available: the standart kit has Xbox Live Vision camera ,1 month Xbox Live Gold membership ,Wired Xbox 360 Headset and 2 Xbox Live Arcade downloads: UNO and TotemBall (i guess this is the game that you were refrerring to as "sucked" because it kinda did ) and gold kit has Xbox Live Vision camera,12 months Xbox Live Gold membership ,Wired Xbox 360 Headset ,200 Microsoft Points and 3 Xbox Live Arcade downloads (UNO, TotemBall and Robotron: 2084). i belive as the naming suggests xbox live vison camera was mainly positioned as a communication device for xbox live platfrom not necassarily as a motion tracking gaming device therefore there has not been eyetoy level gaming software support for it.Microsoft already has it's Vision camera, it was launched last year even with an eyetoy like game (although it sucked)..
lol shifty, if 5 million unit selling franchise is not considered "big" then i do not what big is (then certainly mgs is not a big franchise for example)Shifty Geezer said:Shifty GeezerHow much as GH sold? mtv and record labels will market this game like it's the second coming. i do not if rock band will catch fire (since like you mentinoned price of the peripherals is a big obstacle) but i do know that most mtv watching youth (at least american) will know about this game. again gh sold very well despite it's 90$ price tag (and extra $60 for a 2nd guitar) and the potential financial gains from downloadable content for rock band could be projected to offsett some of harmonix/publisher's other costs (such as hardware).Shifty Geezer said:If Rock Band is going to cost as much as people are suggesting, is it really going to sell that much on any platform? I'm not sure who will 'win' E3.
All the guys will have great games / exclusives / surprises, but for Nintendo that's probably all the 'news' they'll have.
I'm curious if MS will come up with a new controller or EyeToy+ clone to broaden their market. I also expect some big IPTV / Video / Live announcements.
I expect Sony to re-launch rumble and expand on the store and PSN features too.
What I meant by that was, some 5 million people bought an expensive game with an expensive peripheral, and a good many of those, some 2 million, were using the same peripheral from GH1. Thus the existing market for a $100 game is perhaps 3 million. Do we think even as many will shell out $200 or whatever on one game? Do we really think they'll shell out $200 for the game plus $300 for the console to play it on? Thus I don't see it as being megaton in being a platform defining event. It'd be a coup for MS, but I dare say an expensive coup without much potential for return.lol shifty, if 5 million unit selling franchise is not considered "big" then i do not what big is (then certainly mgs is not a big franchise for example)

That's true. The promotion for the platform would make a purchase of RB exclusivity as much an investment in marketing as anything,i see your point, (i still think that we should consider guitar hero franchise as big franchise though ) i belive the main "gain" ms will have is the "marketing dollars". this is a harmonix/mtv games(which viacom owns) title that is going to be distibuted by ea (and also is backed by most major music labels)...

Heh. But that's just an expansion pack to the old, first FF MMORPG. So that's not really what one meant.
While Sony will signal its intentions for the service during its E3 press conference on Wednesday morning, it won't go into any more details than that, likely because Sony's still furiously working away at the guts of the service."
Hm. PSN video store announcement not likely: http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3160898
Not that I care, but I would have thought Sony of all parties should have been on top of this.
Oh well, there's still that PSP redesign they can pull out of the hat.
"Microsoft is expected to show Halo 3 single-player footage, a demonstration of Mass Effect, a new Halo 360 SKU, and to possibly announce Rock Band as a timed exclusive for the Xbox 360. It's going to be exciting, so make sure to check back to this story shortly!"
