Ratchet and Clank PS3 - High Resolution screens

I've never played a ratchet game.
And you call yourself a gamer...

Wait, do you call yourself a gamer? 'Cause if not, then that's cool.

R&C is my favorite series for all time. The games are filled with humor, diverse action, simple pluzzles, and mindless fun. And they are long (20-25 hours). But they sit as one of the few games that I will play through to the end, usually in a weekend. I'd recommend picking up the series...

AA is clearly not real time in these screens.
It's noticably better than 16xQ AA on 8800.
And i highly doubt that this is possible on the PS3 at all.

Eh, guys they're obviously presshots*, seeing as how they were recently in a print magazine and all.

*It's a new term I'm trying out, since 'devshot' had too many negative connotations *ducks*

Print mag images ought to be much higher resolution. Could be the print resolution images downscaled. The AA is 'perfect' with no banding - I disagree completely wth Arwin's theory!

The amount of geometry is impressive, I have a hard time spotting triangle edges (though the baddies have a few).

Yes, that's exactly what I was implying, and it's something we see with many games during development. Magazines pay the big bucks and so PR make the screenshot set at the resolutions they need. Then when embargoes come down, those same screens get passed to everyone else. Insomniac has done this with every screenshot they put out for Resistance, so supersampling is pretty much par for the course with them.

Arwin is a crazy person

Best looking next-gen game so far!:D . And to the people that call those "bullshot" . Fear not!, the final version will look even better!. Trust me!

Ah! Looks like we have an insider on the dev team. Leak some secrets! What do we have to look forward to in terms of graphical improvements over these non-bullshots?

ahhh the funnys.

PSman, I like your optimism. I'll be the first to leak a secret: they will add shadows to all characters in the final version. shhh

All you need to know is that, Insomniac is an EXTREMELLY talented developer that know how to take advantage of the PS3 powerful hardware:D . That's all I'm going to say for now. Be patient, you won't be disappointed, trust me:D ;)

No doubt. It's already in great shape and they seem to have learned quite a bit from their time with the hardware.

:D I completely agree with you on the talent of Insomniac.

I don't find these screenshots to be particularly impressive outside of their CG-like appearance, but that's possibly due to the style of the visuals. Hopefully in the final version, the aforementioned deficiencies will be fixed.
