[PS3] Infamous 2

What ?!? You get the shield as part of story mission in the second island(I think) , whether u upgrade it or not is ur own wish. I couldn't have defeated the "trash tower" guy, whatsisname, without the shield when he became that giant robot on the bridge !

Even, I haven't finished the game patsu, I had just started on the 3rd district when I last played, but I must say its the most fun game on my ps3 ! Sucker punch improving on such an already awesome game is actually a pretty genius act. They are the masters of gameplay !

And , yes, the 2nd best part about Infamous was the fact that it still played like a TPShooter even though it was an open world
game. The first is the traversal :) ! Never was traversing an open world so much fun  !
And the fact that my fav moves are totally diff from urs shows the depth of the gameplay ! Love u Sucker Punch. I have always recommended Infamous to evry new gamer I have met since I got the game.

Do you ever get near the amount of powers in Infamous like you have in that Infamous 2 video? What I played from the demo seemed kinda boring to me.

Yeah... it's one of the most malleable titles. The combat... if they Moved inFamous 2, may be they can consider an electric whip in addition to the tuning fork weapon ?

I am also trying to imagine whether it's possible to shoot and platform at the same time. Even in Vanquish, the slow-mo is a little awkward to kick in. I'm looking for something that's simple and seamless.

EDIT: I saw a foreign flick long ago. The villian could wield electricity as if it's a concrete object. It's more than a projectile or energy source. It's a little hard to explain coz his weapon has no fixed shape. He swings the electric "mess" like a double blade (think Darth Maul), and can deform it into other "shapes" on demand. Would be cool to play in a game. :devilish:

Right at the beginning, the player unleashes tornado upon tornado. In the end, there will be only Chaos  ! some guy playing at PAX 2010. Fun to watch, its the night segment we saw as a trailer earlier.
EDIT: Beware, Video stutters a lot. Watch it if u have patience.

The most informative Dev interview ever. Thanks a LOT for sharing the link, Patsu. It is so enlightening to see what all they tried before zeroing in on electricity as the core play mechanic. More devs should come out with such prototyping stage videos, there nothing more educational than seeing the mistakes that go into reaching a perfect idea. Also, the fact that we all noticed in Infamous, that it plays not like an open world game but like a Third Person Shooter is confirmed by the devs as they clearly say they wanted to preserve the "shooting a gun" kindof fun gameplay in Infamous.

and  at "Gear Wolf" !!! What kind of a name is that ! LOL !:LOL:

Very cool. I love the Sims / Fable type stuff. I think it also could even work, just as long as you turn it off as soon as there is major mayhem going on. Let the 'fight or flight' overtake at that point, and it would actually work a charm.

Yes, I was also trying to imagine if the social interactions between NPCs and Cole would have worked or not. I think for the first game, it might not have worked, as many people would not like the virtual socialisation part as it slows down the pace of the action title that Infamous is, but now that the franchise has established a fan base, I think such indulgences might just work if kept separate from the main storyline. For example, you don't really need to interact with the people of the city, or lets say they don't show such over dose of emotions usually during missions, but if the player chooses to just walk around the city (the parts under control) and shuns violence for sometime , the NPCs could start showing such social behaviours, like hate, love or attention grabbing tactics. His behaviour could earn him special extra missions(like delivering a love letter  !) from loving citizens or keys to secret stashes of shards(etc.), or other light hearted fun stuff, maybe a new costume. Stuff that doesn't affect the main game but which could make the time spent seem funny or cheerful to the player. Just a way of rewarding fans who invest time in exploring the city and its people :) !

Could work. But then Infamous has established itself as a very "serious" game in terms of tone of storytelling, so, I don't think Sucker Punch will bring such things in, but, yes, itt could be fun if it is put in the game ;) !

One more thing, I have not finished Infamous 1, but in the panel the game director(?), the guy on the extreme left who drinks a lot of water :)lol:), said that the if you played as evil, Sasha helped you in missions by sending her minions to help you along. His way of saying that the "Electric Minions power" , in a way, did make it in. I did not play as evil, but does this happen in the game? From what I have played, no such situation arose and I didn't know the game changed that much acording to good/evil choices. I have played uptill just the start of the third district(History District?). Uptill then, I did not see any such thing happen.

BTW, I loved the electric minions/zombies power. It was awesome to see the helpless people suddenly turn into zombies and swarm around the gunman, who was scaring them away a moment ago, and had now become a victim. I think that power worked. It should be in the game :D !

The evil side missions
had you sometimes playing along side conduits (the taller white reapers that could teleport) sent by Sasha.

The last evil side mission
she even gave you control of ordinary people. They would attack any enemy close to you.

Wow  ! Never knew that. Maybe I should try out the evil side too ;) ! All this happens on the first island?
