In spite of being normal map central...both inFamous 1 and 2 seem very flat to me. Can't figure out why but it looks awkward :???:

Should be, but 50-60% is at 'any occasion', not in the most stressful situations.
For MLAA in 720p You need only 12-16% of SPU time and they have almost a year for optimizations. I'm pretty sure that retail version will have some kind of AA.

A lot of the time SSAO is disabled press shots, as it can look a bit fugly under scrutiny. Uncharted 2 for example (at this point this level had already been showcased with AO fully implemented):

Of course it makes the pipe and bricks a lot more flat.

Multiplayer, PlayStation Move and stereoscopic 3D are all being considered for inFamous 2 - Sony's big PS3 exclusive for 2011.

Developer Sucker Punch has mentioned the possibility of 3D and Move support in the past, but this is the first time it's suggested multiplayer as a potential feature.

...

His Eurogamer Expo 2010 session didn't, however, mention the morality system.

"It's going to be a pillar of inFamous 2," Bridges assured fans. "We haven't talked a lot about it yet, but it's definitely coming back."

"We want players to have a different experience based on how they play."

Another grey area was whether characters from inFamous 1 could be carried over to the sequel. "I can't talk about that. We've had that question a lot," said Bridges, not denying its inclusion.

Fans also quizzed Bridges on the ice powers spotted in a recent trailer.

"It was in the trailer," he admitted with a smile. "That's all I got for now, but stay tuned.

"He's still the electric man; he's not going to turn into ice man, but stay tuned."

Nevertheless, Bridges could confirm that side missions will return.

I hope it's better than last time. It's not much of a choice if you can only have the strongest powers if your either all good or all evil. Dictating all your choices from then on.

And at least let us have some fun if we choose the evil way. I preferred the good choices simply to get away from all moral lessons the NPC's try to stuff down your throat at every opportunity they get.

Do-gooders are the pavers on the road to evil.

After giving the Cole of the original Infamous a sporty makeover, one that was coolly received by fans of the PlayStation 3 action-adventure game, developer Sucker Punch went back to the drawing board. This is the new Cole of Infamous 2.

Sony has released a pair of screen shots of the doubly revamped Cole from Infamous 2, which provide a clear look at the character down to his stubble, scars and wrinkles. Go on, click that image for closer look.

...

Hmm...

I actually like the new look somewhat. If any anything this is a triple makeover for Cole. The first redesign drastically changed his face (which I like, despite others' hate), the second one is being made back to his old face, and the 3rd is this look with a smooth (but scarred) face.

The one thing that would've sealed the deal is if they gave back Cole the similar amount of hair he had in the first redesign. I find it disappointing that now Sucker Punch can add hair to him, but they can't/won't because of some fan outrage.

I think that once you're going to start listening to your audience, you might as well move on and allow users to customise their main character ...

Yeah, but then you have to rely on in-game engine real time cut scenes...which is sometimes good, sometimes bad (for instance back ground loading as in Uncharted 2).

I think it's because they changed an existing character that some people liked. If it's a brand new character, then they are more free to do what they want.

I still don't quite like this new character, but that's because I don't like his shirt. Same with the old character. But whatever...
Liked the gameplay so far though.

New i2 presentation ! (From EuroGamer Expo, I believe)

Don't think it has info on Move integration.
No, they give out the same line like they've done in previous interviews.

All-in-all I love the new animations for InF2, just seeing them applied to old powers is an amazing thing to look at. The jumping melee attack they showed in the close-range demo was nice, and the movement that Cole does with his long-range attacks adds a lot of personality to even his most subtle gestures.

Oh and all the rail-grind animations really shows what Sucker-Punch meant when they were talking about Cole now being an extreme sports athlete w/ superpowers.
