PS3 Controller Rumor (Updated)

i had a logitech wireles controller with rumble.
without the rumble it lasted 6 months (not extreme much playing I admit)
with the rumble, acording to spec it would last 40% of that .

so actually yes, you can play a very long time with those wirles controllers

and btw, i never saw a vibrator in a boomerang shape.

bendable yes, but like that...? (well probably a gay thing then hah)

I have a Logitech wingman controller and with rumble enabled playing a race game I would say it lasts about 10 hours or so..

There is/was nothing wrong with the PS3 controller. Oh, beside the fact that it looks like a dildo. That isn't really a problem though. My only complaint about the dual shock is that it is too short, and my hands tend to slip off the bottom. The PS3 controller solves that perfectly by keeping the same button arrangement and adding length vertically to better support your hands. I hope they keep SOMETHING similar to that design if they are indeed changing it.

My only real concern is that they not make it too small (the X360 controller is a tad too small...)

never seen a boomerang shaped dildo before...

but at least it's not ribbed...

the fact that sony or any dev working on a ps3 titel never use the batarang controller is already saying much.

I'm more for the theory that sony has put up a decoy controller to wait what nintendo was coming up and launch their new controllerdesgin in the coming months.
imagine a slighlty different DUALSHOCK2 with a minitrackball for FPS and gyro inside .

The press already had hands on with both Xbox 360 and Revolution controllers, oddly enough, I haven't read any hands on impression with the new PS3 controller, did I missed it ?

According to Japanese gaming-mag Famitsu, a Sony exec. has denied rumors that a redesigned PS3 controller would be unveiled at this January’s CES in Las Vegas.

The GC had the best pad ever! Easily the best, most comfortable game pad I've ever used. Then comes the S version of the Xbox controller, then the N64s, then the PS2's controller.

The thing with Sony's controllers for me is that they would cause pain in my wrists after only a very short time. Funny enough, I've used many PC game pads based around the sign, but altered a bit that were very nice. But every PS2 gamepad I've used has caused me pain rather quickly.
I've had the same problem with the dual shock controllers. It's way too cramped, it feels cheap, the sticks are absolutely horrible, the D-Pad stinks and I NEVER liked that X,O, Square, Triangle stuff. But then again, I never actually owned a Sony console to get used to it. I always know where A, B, X, Y is because it's been the same since the Super NES era.

The SNES pad buttons layout is different from the one found in DC/Xbox.

The Snes was, from up to down, X/Y A/B and the DC and Xbox are Y/X B/A.

Nintendo had the Y, X/B, A format. But if you look, you'll see that X,Y is at the top while A,B is at the bottom. In my head I don't know which buttons are which but I know their positions. Without looking at the Playstation series of controllers, I wouldn't know where the triangle button is. So it's always a that learning curve when I'm playing a friend's Playstation console. Especially in sports games and then I get frustrated.

Anyone else think that Sony is busily building Revo-like features into their controller? I think they're doing a lot more than revamping the shape.

I think it would be difficult to implement similar feature to Dual Shock format as is in the Revolution controller, they'd have to redesign it to be held preferably in one hand.
Besides, isn't the new EyeToy tech supposed to take care of "motion sensor" and image recognition.
A standard DualShock + new EyeToy would imo work even better and be more versatile than the Revolution controller.

Would they have to or even be interested in doing this now? For the Revolution I understand that this is the hook of the system. They don't have anything else that is really fancy above the others (apart from that rumored back catalog download system - yum). For Sony, and even Microsoft, couldn't a controller like the Revolution's be sold as an add-on? Wouldn't that be the ideal way to sell it or do we suspect it is too tied to the system/games that it must be standard or face zero adoption?

They had better redesign the PS3 controller or I will be mad. Did you hear me? I will be mad and they dont want that.;)

Anyway, it may b comfortable but here are my issues:

1.Get with program, switch the D-Pad and the left Analog positions. The D-pad is rarely used anymore.

2.In the mock up, the shoulder buttons are too close together and you would need gargantuan hands to reach them.

3.I dont see any triggers and they better use 2 triggers.

4.If the analongs are the same used in the PS2 pad, well they suck an need a more tactile feel and resisitance.

Until the controller is held, just STFU. I've grown tired of this argument b/c it's so stupid. Does it look stupid? Yes. Is it comfortable/functional? Wait and see. Until then, STFU. PEACE.

So the question is what do we do after ?

We shut up , we get this controller and if it turns out crappy then what ?

Do we complain then ?

By then we are stuck with a controller everyone is developing for ... not exactly a smart move to not voice concerns about hte controller . Its not like a console design . This is something we have to use

Yes if it sucks, we complain then.

If enough complains, Sony might just release a revision just like MS did with its Xbox controller. Or third party will release a classic design controller in the mold of Dual Shock 2.

it took them being sued to change the ds2 . There will be fan boys that tell them its the best thing since sliced bread even if it deforms hands .

Anyway i've only voiced my concerns .

1) I normaly don't like a fin controler which this thing is

2) if a controller is to small then it will quickly hurt my hands

Why we can't comment is beyond me esp since we had pages upon pages of people passing judgement on the rev controler
