Pre-Order Info/Help - PS4/XO

Japan and others aren't getting PS4's until later, and there'll be other countries for XB1 where a preorder might still make sense. So this thread won't have run its course until most countries are covered (or at least those covered by the glut of B3D's populace).

Thanks. I forgot about the other XBO territories which weren't apart of the 22nd and I wasn't sure we even had much representation on here from the AP markets.

My free xbox one came from pepsi today. It was a day one edition but the dead rising copy was a normal one.

X1 has been in stock for a few hours now.

yeah, it's weird since I've been watching it's sales ranking hasnt improved either (#114,579 in Video Games). Arent they supposed to change hourly? It should be either going down or up not remaining constant at least for sure.

Something is weird.

XB1 is sold out now, I think we'll be in for an interesting NPD for November. My hunch is MS has much more supply allocated for North America than Sony and we'll continue to see supply drip thru to consumers thru Christmas. Sony OTOH I think will allocate more units for Europe and Asia. Being able to say they had the number one platform for Christmas is an important talking point to MS, more so than Sony.

The fact that the XB1 was in stock for so long IMO has more to do with supply than consumer interest - both machines are supply constrained its just that more of that supply from MS is here in the US.

Sony already announced that they sold 1.4M in North America in November (well not exactly, but they announced it on December 3rd, so most likely November's sales). Of that 1.4M, at least 1.1-1.2M will be the US alone.

Microsoft announced that they sold over 1M worldwide within 24hrs of their launch. I think at most MS allocated 700K to the US for launch. The US probably received another decently sized shipment before the end of November (or they reserved a bunch for black friday) but I can't see them shipping another 400-500K+ within 8 days.

I think Sony will win November's NPD, but MS might win December's NPD. Right now it does seem like MS has more stock in early December, so unless Sony can get another sizable shipment to the US, I see MS taking December's NPD. Worldwide, I think Sony will retain a comfortable lead. As it stands right now, I think it's ~2.1M vs ~1.5M. Not that it matters much at this point.

NPD numbers right now seems to indicate 2 things, how much Sony and Microsoft can manufacture and how much they allocate to the USA. It has less to do with consumer interest :)

One I'm not sure about is what MS actually shipped. They announced that they sold 1M within 24 hours, but that weekend there were still X1's available. It possible that they shipped much more than 1M for launch. It really wouldn't surprise me if the NPD was really close.

More on-topic - they're putting out a fair few systems, but my guess is you'll still be struggling to get one before Christmas if you hadn't pre-ordered in a lot of places in the world.

I am very happy that i preordered my XB1, it may not be as hot around here, but there is real chance that MS will "just" allocate what is needed to fullfill pre-orders and then a bit more and keep on pumping out where it matters.

Amazon.co.uk has a nice feature.

XB1

Orders placed from November 13 may not be delivered before Christmas"

PS4

Customers who ordered this console from November 14 will receive their consoles after Christmas
Customers who pre-ordered this console up to and including August 6 have been given an option to get a PS4 for release day
Customers who pre-ordered this console from August 7 up to and including November 13 will receive their consoles after release date but before Christmas
Customers who cancel existing pre-orders and place a new order will not get their console for release day"

Does anyone know a good online store I can order a PS4 to be delivered in EU?
It wont be released where I am until February

hmm... if I had known, I could have sent you the one I have (had) available... :(

But I guess I would use Amazon. As long as it is shipped through Amazon. Seem pretty reliable. Do they ship to Greece?

Amazon ships in general to my country. I ordered books and stuff before. This is the first time I am looking to order something big from Amazon and all PS4's I have checked are either too expensive (Edit: when I say expensive I mean they are overpriced compared to the official price) or are not shipped to my territory

Try one of the PS4 stock checkers sites in a country it's already released. In my experience EU-based retailers are fairly good about shipping to other EU countries - expect to pay a bit more for delivery though.
