alexp2792 said:Wow, that was a TERRIBLE press conference, I can afford $600 but there's no way I'm getting a PS3 at launch. Paying $200 more for the same graphics as my 360 is nuts and none of the exclusives that interest me even come out until well into 2007 so hopefully the price drops by than. I don't care about Blu-ray since I already have an HD-DVD player. Basically the whole thing was HUGE letdown, the only people who still think that PS3 is "real" next gen are blind ******s(you can figure out who they are) and Sony employees.

depends if one game will be running at 1080p and the other at only 720p.That's going to be an incredibly hard sale when the kiosks will show virtual no difference in game graphics. You'll have 2 systems side by side, each looking about equal to the other

And from what I've seen of the PS3 graphically, it's no better than what I've seen on the 360. I haven't seen a single in-game screenshot that made me go "wow, that's better than anything on the 360."
But hey, if comparing almost completed games to a tech demo of a game that was over a year away from release makes you feel better about your choice, by all means use that excuse. Whatever works for you.

The controller for PS3 has been created by refining and improving the world’s
most popular PlayStation® controller that has shipped more than several hundred million units worldwide, while inheriting its basic concept and design. The controller for PS3 employs breakthrough technology of high-precision, highly sensitive six-axis sensing system that does not require any devices other than the controller itself for seamless interactive operation, thus eliminating additional settings to TVs. With this technology, ways to enjoy PS3 will be further enhanced by accessing PS3 through the network, while retaining the six-axis sensing capability.
In addition to the “3-posture-axis” of roll, pitch and yaw, “3-dimension acceleration information (X, Y, and Z)” can be detected in high-precision and in real-time. In addition to standard key input available in existing controllers, more natural and more intuitive play will become possible as if the controller has become part of your body.
But why would you do that? That doesn't make any sense to make such a comparison. Other than trying to make things more apparent than they really are, for some reason.Powderkeg said:And a $300 difference if you compare a Core 360 to the high-end PS3.

You are comparing two different personal experiences here.
Personally I am more impressed with the screenshots I ve seen so far than what I ve seen on 360. They seem more full and more alive than the games I ve seen so far on the 360.
I dont know...probably the animation? The physics? The motion blur?
But that could just be me.
Comparing unreleased 360 games with unreleased PS3 games still make me more impressed with what I see on the PS3.
Who knows? I may be dissapointed at the end, But for now I am excited.
That level of quality 360 displayied in last year's E3 showed nothing like what I saw today.
Also the game line up interest me more. I know I ll get FF, Heavenly Sword, GT, Tekken etc on PS3 . I wont get those on 360
