I watched the Killzone 2 trailer again (man that is cool). However, I would like to caution you gentlemen against believing this is real time without a closer look. Examine what is possible with today's top of the line hardware, and then watch the video again. Character models look to be straight geometry (check out rounded silhoutte as indication), with 20 + characters on screen, surrounded by a VERY high poly world. We are talking poly counts SIGNIFICANTLY higher that Gears of War (as soon as we take GOW normal-mapping out of the equation) running at a smooth (no sign of jerk, hitch, pause, anything) 60fps through all scenes. Notice the extremely cinematic explosions, and camera angles. Take a look at Unreal Engine 3 running on PS3 hardware, and you will notice some lurches, pauses and such, when Tim S.'s sidekick manipulates the camera. This is a demo of a (mostly) indoor enironment, relatively low poly count for enironment, and two detailed characters w/ poly counts not approaching those of Killzone 2's (UE3 characters are specced between 5000 and 10k polys). Even this relatively simple scene is not running perfectly in real time. Then take a look at Killzone's perfect AA quality, smooth framerate, incredibly high poly counts in comparison. I will eat my words if Killzone 2 looks exactly like this at 60 fps come PS3 launch. When we see gameplay videos then all of this will be put to rest. As of right now, I remain skeptical about some of the incredibly realistic demos both consoles have shown. Some of it is believeable, some of it is not. Just don't expect graphic quality that is leaps beyond high-end games today. It just wont happen.
