LMAO... that makes sense doesn’t it. Particularly if you were waiting for 6 + months for the GFFX then it makes sense that you would also wait for ATi response. hehe I never thought of it that way. On that note any speculations on when we will see the R350?

I think what he's saying is now ATi's next card is right around the corner, so the GFFX won't have a very long shelf life.

Oh.... I read it like "well I have waited this long I might as well wait for a little longer to see what ATi has to offer". I didn't read that he thought that the GeforceFX would have a short shelf life... although that would make sense particularly if it is outdone by the R350.

yea my bad guys , been tired , i went to bed right after i posted that . I meant it as being the part no longer holds any intrest to me. Its over 6 months late and I've been enjoying a r300 since sept. Everyone keeps talking about the fx and its 6 month old tech. Who knows when it will come. Hell at this point I have a strong feeling that the r350 will come out before it. Actually that be kinda cool :)

Looks exactly like the reference design. Wonder if the cooler will be of the reference "dustbuster" variety also.

Board rev. 0A does seem somewhat curious though... :) And what's up with that super-weird VGA connector?

18th Jan - about time to!

The day after I get to see Chelsea destroy Man U at Old Trafford :)

oh and from the msi site

"> 500MHz Core Clock (Will probably vary depending on model) "

Looks like there after a few more mph :)

Yeah, it's not connected on that board, which is rather odd, to say the least. You'd think that they'd remove the connector entirely, or at least connect the thing! Well, since most higher-end GF4's used two displays, most GeForce FX's probably will too.

It only makes market sense for Nvidia to allow reviews of the GFFX if it is clearly superior or better then the competition. Especially if the shipment will be late, so as to at least tide over the fan base and build up momentum. Obviously the GFFX (at least to me) won't be a performance killer over the Radeon 9700pro.

Two caveats:

1) That quote was NOT originally posted in our forums, but was copied to our forums after the original source (the messageboard of the abysmal computer-trend.biz that posted the fake GFFX review) disappeared. As of yet, NV Germany has neither confirmed nor denied that message.

2) IF the message is genuine, 18 January would be the last day of the NDA that forbids board manufacturers to release hardware to third parties, not the media NDA. Unless the board manufacturers have broken the NDA and shipped samples to reviewers earlier, it will take quite some time, still, until we'll see reviews of non-NV review samples. IF the message is genuine, mind, it implies that the media NDA will run out shortly as well. They are usually pretty well aligned.

Lots of ifs right here. ;)

Hmmm...

Last week it was going to be "out" the 3rd week of Januray. Now it's the "first week of February".

I'm going to need another week or two of estimates before I can think about converging on the "real" release date. ;)

Anyway, now we can all debate about what "being out" means. NDA lifted? Reviews? Chips shipping from fabs? Products on shelves?
