Official GT5 discussion thread

I discovered that while there is no limit on the amount of credits your drivers can obtain, there is a limit on the amount of credits that you can have! You can only have 20 million, if your bob has more and you transfer credits, the amount above will get lost.

Furthermore, the guys at GT-planet have created a widget to auto remote race. You can select what driver it should use (what order) and who on your friendlist it should use. Works awesomely.

I currently have it set to "payback", so if you race my bobs, it will automatically race yours.

Auto Grinder 2.0 Widget

You need yahoo widgets installed.

Thanks to the guys who've been doing the B-Spec races! Nearly 2m was lavished upon my drones! Please continue to wear them out.

I can't believe how much remote racing has levelled up my b spec level! I've not really done that many offline b spec events.

Also this is a great way to earn credits :D

(I never seem to win remote races though!)

The outcome of remote racing is pretty much random, due to car differences.

There is one event that has exceptions to this, and this is the nascar race as all cars are more or less the same. Here, the best driver (if agressive enough) will usually win.

It's pretty good, but it keeps dropping connection to the server for me.

Have had it running most of yesterday and today though so if I am on your friends list maybe you should check your drivers.

It is very stable for me. Twice i have gotten connection error, out of running 12 hours a day for the last week. Very nice for credits, (aspecially since i have on reciporate, which creates a endless loop between me and the other auto grinders on my friendlists), 2 million per day or so.

I had no idea I could get the X2010 by reaching level 35 in B-Spec mode. That was a pleasant surprise :)

Oh and something funny I found in youtube with the X10

I wonder if that was patched :D

I find the X2010 out of this world and it should not be in GT5, the game isn´t build for something that is so fast, way to many accidents, to many lame overtaking or lack of, to many run ins with other cars. Of course this is all with the AI drivers.

The only usefull thing is grinding money but it´s disheartening to watch the AI screw up all the time..

Hilarious! No big wonder that this would happen in particular on the track generator, but regardless, it does show that the collission physics are pretty robust - even mid-air collisions seem to work just fine! And minus the damage the roll-overs are decent enough. Big improvement from previous GTs, but then that's easy as they didn't feature roll-overs at all.

I haven't played any games for more than a week (Mexican Flu) and GT even longer. Last time I checked there seemed to be something wrong with my B-spec stuff - I couldn't harvest anything. It's possible that it was a result of transferring everything to my other PS3, but when I tried again on my livingroom PS3 I didn't get anything either. I'll probably have to unshare and reshare on the new PS3, and then hope that everything starts working again, but it is a shame - I feel that I've probably missed out on millions of credits and would have been a level 35 now for sure.

I say why not? If Group B cars were never banned this would have been the evolution of it :)

This car is an engineer's dream and it probably exists on paper. Why not see and try that engineering wonder in some form? It is not something completely imaginary that was slapped in. Considering that GT5 is a simulation it is the perfect medium in drive testing in theory the aerodynamics and mechanical work of whats on the paper and what they have worked on in various calculation applications of the modeling

GT5 can´t handle it when it comes to driving. Watching an AI driver in a race makes that pretty clear.

It doesnt matter. I d like to try it anyways ;)
I am not watching my drivers much, but I think my B-spec driver controls it fairly well.

Try and see what happens in traffic with the X2010, not as bad as above, but there is alot bumping around.

It is natural when you are going at speeds above 250kmph on turns while the other cars are going below 100kmph and they suddenly appear in your face. My driver often avoids them but when they are lots of them and on turns my driver finds a hard time avoiding them. If all cars are on similar speeds the AI will avoid them much easier. It is not necessarily an AI issue. Its the fact that the cars on track are not of the same performance

I have started my first 24h B-Spec race yesterday.

One thing I have noticed is how freakin dark that track is during night. I find it impossible to be able to drive in so much darkness in A-Spec if and when I finally try that!!

On Oval tracks where it should be more than possible to see ahead the AI does alot of stupid things, again, it seems the AI wasn´t developed with such a fast car in mind. Or maybe the fast car just makes AI flaws more clear.

I havent tested it on oval tracks yet. I guess the AI may need an enhancement rather than not having the X2010 in the game

The AI in Gt5 is stupid, with or without the x2010.

They were terrible in Gt4 (on rails) and things haven't progressed much on this respect on GT5. They are a bit more clever, but they all break to early, accelerate to late, and they don't know how to overtake. Often, i can see my driver get trapped behind a much slower car, when he easily could have passed on the outside lane.
