The indie discussion is now taking place in the Indie thread.
Mate thats the whole Idea of unity (I guess the names a hint). Its got nothing to do with MS platforms but practically any platform
heres one of my unity games

playable on PCs/phones/tablets
The problem is A game made for a PC vs one made for a phone is you have to 'dumbdown' a lot of things / code to the lowest common deniminator eg input, graphics readibility. Thus yes it may run on lots of platforms but you're prolly getting a less than ideal experience
If anybody was looking forward to playing The Amazing Spider-Man 2 on Xbox One (probably not as there's not even a thread for this game - and it looks like ass!), Eurogamer are reporting the Xbox One versions has been indefinitely delayed. Still shipping on 360 though.
Yeah I meant to post a follow-up, I watched Eurogamer's livestream of it shortly after it appeared, without ceremony, on the online store. Eurogamer speculated the release was a mistake and I think they thought it may be full of nasty bugs but it's just a rather average game.Apparently this became a non-issue. http://majornelson.com/2014/04/29/the-amazing-spider-man-2-now-available-on-xbox-one-and-xbox-360/
Someone got it wrong in this story, either the journalists or it was a rumour that people kept hearing about. How bizarre.
Disagree! Stay flat! I don't mind the backgrounds though. I can choose something subtle and other people can have their ugly loud garbage.
And they all look pretty plain and boring, sometimes even ugly. Transparency or somesuch coupled with flat icons work (and by flat, I mean dull and uninteresting, and not that I want 3D icons!) because the interest comes from the background, but the current wave of extraordinarily uninteresting, unpretty icons isn't designed around them being translucent. The end result is a world of single white letters on squares of colour. Using services now is like working in the 1990s when interfaces were similarly flat, monochromatic icons on white out of technical limitations.Yeah, as a graphic designer, I definitely think flat, minimalist, 'modern' design is a good thing.
Both Apple and Google (not to mention Facebook and others) are now following in the footsteps of Microsoft.

By modern do you mean ancient? The earliest iconbs on desktops were minimalistic (due to limited color/resolution) The thing with the metro icons isI definitely think flat, minimalist, 'modern' design is a good thing.
That's awesome, I had never seen those videos. Thanks for sharing. I think we are going to see awesome things for Kinect. Make of that what you may.I found something interesting. If Microsoft wants to go with AR they need Kinect to boost their efforts. See what happened if you use Kinect and Kinect Fusion technology together. Kinect should be very helpful for AR technology as it can constantly update your living room 3D model.

An interesting Japanese demo from 2013:
By modern do you mean ancient? The earliest iconbs on desktops were minimalistic (due to limited color/resolution) The thing with the metro icons is
1. Theyre very hard to tell what they are cause they look similar
Perhaps you find the one of the left more better looking (I dont & Im willing to bet that the majority of ppl dont),
but Im sure everyone agrees the rightside one is easier to pick out in a screen full of icons quickly
Interesting... Lots of hype. A couple of news.
- Spencer doesn’t think Microsoft will introduce a dedicated handheld gaming device. Instead they’ll work on Windows Phone and tablets, maybe with controller support some day.
- Spencer wants to make E3′s show more focused on the fans and he’s looking for ideas to make them feel like the conference is for them even if they aren’t in Los Angeles.
- The main focus will be on hardcore gamers.
- There was an idea to make Cortana the voice of the show, but Spencer didn’t like it. He likes the Windows Phone feature but doesn’t want to overdo it.
- Fans won’t have to wait for Tokyo Game Show to see Japanese Xbox games (possibly meaning that we’ll see them at E3).
- This year Microsoft will show “stuff we are committed to, from top studios, for this year and future.”
- We’ll get a “couple of things” announced before E3. May “Should be a good month for news.” It took Spencer a month to get the plans set.
- Spencer has strict orders not to talk about any 343 industries IP before E3.
- Both new IP and sequels will be announced at this year’s show.

This would be the icon on the right depicted within Metro
