Nope, I wasn't banned for that. I was temporarily banned till after E3 for, I suppose, being a bit too overzealous in my belief that the Xbox One's policies weren't quite as life altering and disastrous as some thought.
So I was literally banned for "Spinning too hard." :/ I learned my lesson, though. I'll just say my piece and then move on. Engaging with people on such a touchy subject that gets people so angry and animated, especially when I'm probably on the wrong side of the issue, is probably asking for trouble clearly. So people saw me get banned and instantly jumped to the conclusion that I must have been banned because I'm some "shill" that works for MS, which I'm not. But when you don't agree with people on a specific subject, that's what happens.
The subject of what I said about there being no downclock isn't what got me banned. It was the entirely different subject of the Xbox One's policies and being perceived as spinning, even though I was just giving my personal opinion on the matter. My ban only lasts till after E3. I have concerns like others, but I don't think the policies would change very much about the way I do things day to day. I regularly had nice things to say about the Wii-U and PS4 on GAF, so I wasn't exactly trolling any specific consoles. It just rubbed some folks the wrong way that I held some of the opinions that I did, and more or less maintained a positive outlook on the Xbox One. I don't really blame the mods, but more so people accusing anybody that has a different view of somehow working for Microsoft.

I don't know what the story is with CBOAT and the other GAF insiders, it could be they're all getting their info from the same source (CBOAT) and he has been misinformed this time (Rangers said earlier that he has made some mistakes in the past).
Or alternatively, they're all in on some collective troll of GAF and the rest of the gaming interwebz - I'd say they've certainly succeeded if that was their intention
It would be interesting story though, not that I think we'll ever hear how that rumour originated.
Now normally, I would err on the side of caution (and have been until the last day or two).
However, I am in contact with Richard from DF and he has a good source telling him there's no truth to the downclock story nor has he heard anything contradicting that or agreeing with the GAFsiders - and I put him on the trail on the 5th, so he's been looking into it for a while.
Adding to that, I have recently been made aware of who SenjutsuSage's source is and they are pretty damn impressive as far as sources go :smile:
His source would definitely be in a position to know - first hand.
So that's good enough for me to be somewhat bullish on this.
Furthermore, we had a post by Dave Baumann here, who works for AMD which implies that since AMD is manufacturing the chips any issues with yields etc would be AMD's issue not MS's

That's not entirely true, if yields are preventing MS from launching with little actual product, that's a pretty big damm issue for them. Besides that, we don't know how the contract is setup for MS, it could be on a wafer basis at which point MS is liable for yields. Dave never actually confirmed anything, he just challenged the notion that it must be MS who is at risk for poor yields.
Probably similar to what PSN+ does now in that the benefits that come along with Gold wont continue if the subscription lapses. Maybe its DLC, or maybe its access to your entire library on other consoles not in your home but it wont be the inability to play the games you bought for $60 on your main console. That just seems ludicrous.

Im pretty sure all XBONE devkits starting from the first would support at least DX11, the current ones should be supporting a superset of DX11 (and other current features) currently called DX11.x
The guy from turn 10 said they are using dx 11.1 in a video interview. I think it was IGN. Please dont ask me to find it.
